About the Author

Jolinda Hackett (Santa Barbara, CA) has been vegetarian for nearly twenty years, and a plant-based vegan for nearly ten. As a volunteer for countless vegan advocacy groups, Hackett spent several years promoting the myriad benefits of a plant-based diet. She continues to counsel new vegetarians and vegans online as the About.com Guide to Vegetarian Food. While at the University of Chicago, she studied with Dr. Gideon Eshel, who made headlines in 2006 with research showing that a vegan diet does more to reduce one's individual planetary footprint than switching from an SUV to a hybrid vehicle. She has been interviewed by and appeared in American Vegan magazine, Food and Home Magazine, the Daily Nexus, the Santa Barbara News Press, the Jerusalem Post, and on WZRD radio in Chicago.

I wasn't Vegan before reading this book as I was always under the impression that there wouldn't be enough choice or variety in my diet. This book offers so many fantastic recipes, I found them simple, quick and easy to make and really delicious. Some favorites: Classic Fettuccine Alfredo, Pesto and potato salad and the coconut rice pudding. I also like the nutritional info and total calories displayed with each recipe. 2 months in and I'm still Vegan, the transition was easy thanks to this book, overall, a great investment into my health.

This is an amazing vegan cookbook! I just got my copy a few weeks ago and I've already used so many recipes. My vegan and non-vegan friends and family have been enjoying the dishes I've made following this wonderful cookbook. The Everything Vegan Cookbook has recipes for every occasion.. with recipes from all over the world but with a healthy vegan twist. I'm thoroughly pleased with the variety this cookbook offers & the nutrition facts for each recipe. I don't consider myself any where close to being a chef, I'm just an average health conscience vegan and I find these recipes easy to work with, ingredients easy to find... and the recipes are just absolutely delicious.

My favorites so far: asian ranch dressing, avocado & shitake pot stickers, coconut cauliflower curry & the new potato pesto salad.. mmmmm!

I bought this book on the advice of youtube (super skinny) star Jenna Marbles. I became a vegan, and I feel great ! This book has introduced me to a lot of new food products, and amazing recipes ! Most of them I find fairly easy ! I recommend this book for any new vegan (there's a lot of info on veganism at the beginning) or even anyone who wants to eat healthy and discover interesting foods.

Are the recipes from this book affordable and easy to find?
Very easy to find everything at a regular grocery store for the recipes in this book. You won't be searching for obscure ingredients--many of the recipes are vegan versions of classic dishes. The recipes are also budget friendly and easy to make.
