Pretty stock on every level. Shot fairly well for TV movie standards (in the 90's), the thin plot is pretty much what you'd expect.

A solid lead in Madylor can't make up for shoddy make-up FX, terrible dialog and a bad female lead.

Despite following the cliche' "every 10 minutes show me T&A/give me a kill!" rule, I still didn't find much that kept my interest.

One star for being there on a rainy night...if all your other DVD's have mysteriously disappeared!

When I first saw this movie, I knew nothing about it and didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be a good thriller (and eventually killer) movie. A university teacher who is blind receives donated eyes and is able to see, but he slowly takes on the characteristics of the donor who, you guessed it, was a killer. Louis Mandylor does a good job in the title role while Gwendolyn Edwards is very good as his loving/sympathetic/concerned and finally frightened for her life newlywed. The supporting cast is also quite good, especially Sherry Weston and Petri Hawking-Bryd (Judge Judy's bailiff). The issue of taking on not only the physical but also possibly psychological characteristics of an organ donor, while extreme in this movie, is thought-provoking.

I really enjoyed this movie! I recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers with a twist! It is also a good horror movie.

First of all, I am a huge fan of TV's JUDGE JUDY so imagine my delight when Petri Hawkins Byrd, her unflappable bailiff, showed up in a small incidental role! Unfortunately, that's the best part of this movie.
IN THE EYES OF A KILLER is basically a vanity project for B-movie actor Louis Mandylor who also directs. His brother Costas (from the SAW franchise) joins him in the role of a sleazy congressman.
The premise is nothing new: a dedicated blind professor receives new eyes in a risky transplant, unaware his donor is a recently executed serial killer. You can surmise of course, prof starts seeing the world in a whole new way.
Its all done in a plodding, tedious manner, generating little suspense or thrills. Louis has little screen presence other than his Travolta swagger. TWIN PEAK's James Marshall makes little impact as the down-home sheriff. Only our heroine, Gwendoline Edwards, manages to rise above the material and give a credible performance. Thumbs down on the movie's sound mixing. Several times, the movie's Casio-sounding score blares out necessitating frequent remote control adjustments.
IN THE EYES OF A KILLER will probably hit dollar bins soon...if remotely interested, wait till it does!
