Book Description

***NOTE -- Originally published as "A Lady And A Maid***

Decades of prosperity have left the realms of man happy, healthy ... and complacent. Bounty, fertility, and a bright future lay ahead for all, or so it would seem. For during these happy times, the enemies of men have planned, and gathered -- and waited. All across the land, hubris, arrogance, and decadence have left the world of man vulnerable, weak, ripe for the taking.

For decades the nocturne have bided their time, bolstered their numbers, and sown the seeds of man's downfall. Now the time has come to crush the armies of men, for wiping human civilization from the earth -- and for the rise of the vampires.

Caught in a terrifying series of events, a humble landowning family, torn asunder by the whims of a jaded, cruel noblewoman, seeks to be reunited. Young Owen, deprived of his Sophie, finds himself thrust into a mission his youth has left him ill-suited to carry out. And Sophie's father, vowing to do anything to retrieve his daughter, prepares to sell his soul for her freedom.

Evil has come to the realms of men ― and only the power of love has the chance to save it.

Publisher's Warning: Intended for mature readers. 18 and over only!

This novel features the following themes: explicit BDSM sexuality, including MF, MFM, FF, pony play, vampirism, and graphic violence.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

If you like explicit sex, stirring romance, honor, depravity, magic, vampires, hardcore BDSM, dragons, dark erotica, and complicated heroes (and even more complicated heroines) then you've found the right series for you, for The Chronicles of Muurland has all that -- and more.

As many writers are, I'm a voracious reader, and I'm known to read many different genres. I've always loved epic fantasy, vampires, and of course, erotic fiction (especially of the BDSM sort -- the hotter, the better). For fantasy, everything from Tolkien to GRRM to Jacqueline Carey floats my boat. Joey W Hill's Vampire Queen series is some of the best vampire fiction -- whether erotic romance or not -- I've ever read. I'm a HUGE fan of Ann Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy which she penned under the nom de plume A.N. Roquelaure.

Like others though I often found myself frustrated at books that attempted to incorporate more than one (or all) of the above elements: it was rare that the individual elements that I was looking for ever received equal billing.

Fantasy that tried to incorporate lots of sex often failed on the sex count. Erotic fiction that tried to add a deep fantasy or paranormal plot or setting often used the setting/plot as mere window dressing for the sex.

The original story that eventually became The Fall of Lady Westwood had been percolating in my mind for several years, and one day I decided to put pen to paper and actually, you know, write the thing down. I found though as I was writing it, that the world that is The Chronicles of Muurland series is a vast, dark, and alluring one. So many other stories wanted to be told, that I knew several more books would be in the offing.

What I've tried to do with this book -- and future installments in the series -- is write an epic fantasy tale that incorporates all of the themes and action that I love: erotic odysseys, journeys of self-discovery, titanic battles, sinister plots, true love caught in a maelstrom of lust and depravity, and elemental struggles between good and evil -- and the conflicted souls who walk the road between the two.

I hope you pull up a seat and stay a while...

The books in The Chronicles of Muurland are intended to be read in order, but can be enjoyed as standalone novels as well. I've listed them below in order of publication date:

1. The Fall of Lady Westwood
2. Chattel in a Vampire's Kingdom (coming in 2015)

I found this to be an impeccable, erotic fantasy that took me back to a time when Ladies and Lords ruled the lands. Westwood Manor pulled me in and wrapped me in a warm snugly blanket while I read this compelling story of Love, lust, and political views of the time period.

The plot pulls you in immediately as Sophie, a peasant farmer's daughter finds herself in the clutches of Lady Westwood, getting whisked off to the manor to become a servant for this sadistic and powerful woman in more ways than one. That however, is just the beginning of this delightful tale of salacious events. As the story unfolds secrets are revealed that keep you glued to the page until the very end. This story is a well mixed blend of erotica, strife, drama and love that will leave you a little sad when you reach the end simply because you want more. Well, I want more and can't wait until the next book in these Chronicles gets released.
My favorite line from this book is: "Miriam collected the teardrop on the tip of her finger and brought it to her tongue, tasting the girl's unhappiness."

This is my first book by Trent Evans and will most certainly not be my last. This author really knows how to make words come together in a delightful mix of song and dance. Don't take my word for it though. Give A Lady and a Maid a try and see for yourself.

Deliciously and twisted-ly evil main characters. I love the torments poor Sophie and Tani go through. Anxiously waiting for book 2 (will there be a book 2?)

More About the Author

Trent Evans is an independent author of BDSM erotic romance and erotica. Putting pen to paper since he was a wee lad, he decided to try to share some of the tales cooked up in his fevered imagination. Some readers might not be horrified at what he writes. He tries to write stories that appeal to both women and men (wow, threading the needle), but will follow wherever the story takes him.

A long-time resident of the Pacific Northwest, the author believes that the high percentage of authors in the region (compared to the nation as a whole) is chiefly due to the fact that it's so damned wet and miserable all the time there. They tend to use their long hours cooped up inside spinning yarns that depict things they'll never see or experience -- such as sunshine.
