From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1-Mr. Wani, a crocodile, is rushing to get to a party at the Froggies' house, but is running late. He literally stumbles over some very good-hearted creatures that help him keep moving in highly irregular ways, including mice that tie balloons to his mouth so that he can fly. The illustrations are playful and eye-catching, with simple cartoon figures in olive, purple, and rust adorned with small textural lines. The book's design is excellent, propelling readers from one page to the next as they experience the flurry of action on each spread. Even the type is energetic, with words like Crash! Ouch! and Screech! set in a much larger size than the rest of the text. In addition to the marvelous energy conveyed, there is a lot of inventive humor. A terrific book for storytimes and one-on-one sharing.-Shelley B. Sutherland, Niles Public Library District, IL
