The ONLY reason I give this `thing' that is being paraded as a story one star is because I wasn't able to not give it any. I actually got this book for free and paid far too much in time reading it. I'm a voracious reader and will read just about anything put into my hands and I actually threw this book away. This is coming from someone who managed to struggle their way through `Twilight' despite all its faults, and that book reads like Hemingway compared to this.

I have seen the author's `art' (and yes I use that term loosely) on the Internet, and that should have been a warning. I hate to say that even that is superior to his writing.

This is the worst story I have ever read - and I read fan fiction. NEVER have I come across such uninspired, amateurish writing. The plot - which sounds worthy - is so poorly done that half-way through I was looking for a Bic pen in which to gouge my eyes out with. The dialogue reads like something from a love-struck sixth grader with severe mental defects, the characters are ridiculous...the whole thing is so stunningly inept that I can't comprehend it.

The reviews left for this book are actually better constructed than the story itself; I can't believe anyone published it. I pity anyone who actually paid the exorbitant price of twenty-five dollars for it. Between the high price and the horrid story, it's no surprise that we have yet to see this on a best-sellers list.

It is hardly in the same vein as `The Chronicles of Narnia'. Seriously, just skip this monstrosity and read `The Chronicles of Narnia' - you won't be disappointed at that.

The most I can say about this book, if you were unfortunate enough to be gifted with it like I was, is that it burns well for heat in cold climates. Other than that, a complete waste of time and money.

I have had the sad luck to see Danny Wheeler's art and writing on the Internet. Given the quality of his writing that he had posted on the Internet, I didn't expect much from this book, and was not at all disappointed. Dnany Wheeler is almost 30 years old, yet one would not know it from this 135 page book. 135 pages would be understandable for a novel geared towards children, but I get the feeling that this book was written for his peers to read and enjoy.

I'm sorry, but it's simply not enjoyable. At all. The premise sounds promising. Nothing at all wrong with a kid discovering his mother, or a magical world, or some such. All the elements in this story sounds promising, but Mr. Wheeler utterly ruins it all. The plot, dialog, and characters are flat and show no real development. I can't help but wonder who the editor was, and how this book managed to actually get published.

If you're looking for a story with a magical world set amidst WWII, then pick up the Chronicles of Narnia. You can get the entire Narnia set - 7 books - for cheaper than you can get this one. And you'll enjoy the tales of the adventures of the Pevensie children and Aslan more than you will enjoy this story of Curtis Terrence.

This book is so uninspired and cliche it's hard to put into words. Burning this book in your fireplace is more mentally stimulating than actually reading it.
