My name is Dave Moore and I am the author of this award winning, amazing true story of my cross-country search for my missing son David and how I found my faith in God. You will be drawn into this story and experience every parents worst nightmare-a missing child. It will change the way you relate to your children, and will testify to the love, omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence of God. I wrote this story of "The Father's Love" to tell the world about the frantic search for my missing son and the complete transformation of my family because of the miracle working power of God and prayer. Dave Moore is a chaplain serving through the Church of God in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Dave volunteers to pray with the sick and the lost in hospitals, nursing homes, prison, and jails. He is married to the love of his life, Dorinda, and has three sons, Shane, Adam, and David.
Dave Moore's, The Father's Love, is a wonderful true story about the journey, both physical and spiritual, that one father takes to find his missing son. Dave arrives home from work one Friday afternoon to what he believes is the start of an ordinary weekend with his wife, Dorinda, and son, David. After placing a pizza order, Dave and his wife await his 18 year old son's arrival. However, Dave's life is never the same when Dorinda finds a note in David's room explaining his intention to run away due to his struggles in school. Dave quickly finds himself on a tearful five day journey to bring his son home. After exhausting all of his options and having no where else to turn, Dave finds himself asking God for help and then seeing a miracle unfold before his eyes.
I truly loved reading Moore's story, The Father's Love. At just over 100 pages, The Father's Love is an inspirational story that you can easily read in one afternoon. My heart truly went out to Dave and Dorinda while they came face to face with their nightmare. I also loved reading about the spiritual journey Dave underwent. I believe Moore's book is a great read for believers and non-believers everywhere. The Father's Love would also be a great addition to a Christian Book Club or a great read for small groups in a local church. Don't miss out on this inspiring story, it left me blessed!
Dave Moore has provided me with a complimentary copy of his book, 'The Father's Love' for the purpose of review.
What I enjoyed most about this book was how Dave took the time to relive every detail, every thought, and every emotion he felt during this ordeal. I appreciated how this book was not only about his path to find his "prodigal" son, but his path to find his "Heavenly Father".
At some points I had to put the book down just to catch my breath, I found myself reading faster and faster, wanting to find out more and more. Would he find his son? How would he and his wife deal with it if his son never came back? And if he did return, how would his father receive him.
I hope to never have to go through any of this, but you can see how God comes through with Dave Moore, and transforms him. Our sin-filled world is full of heartaches, moments of hopelessness, and times of pain where you don't know what will happen next. Dave went through it all in a short period of time. I'm glad to read that he turned to God in prayer in prayer, but best of all I'm glad God answered his prayer.Tales Of WordishureSongs of Wordishure
"The Father's Love" a true story, is one that really tugged at my heart. You feel like you are right there with Dave, feeling his pain and frustration as he searches for his son. Doing everything he knows to do...yet feeling so helpless. Finally reaching out to God, he gets more than what he asks for! Reading about how God moves and works in people's lives is always inspiring to me. I think you will be inspired too.
A sucker for any book that reveals God's love for His people, and in honor of Father's Day (Sunday, June 17), I contacted Dave Moore and explained that I wanted to read The Father's Love and review it on my blog. Dave graciously and immediately sent me a copy via email.
With The Father's Love (published by Tate Publishing & Enterprises) downloaded on my Kindle, I sat one evening and began to read. I didn't quit until I finished the book. It was impossible to stop. Almost impossible to breathe. Really!
The Father's Love, an amazing true story, opened with a short straightforward introduction that immediately endeared me to Dave and his family. Dave then proceeds to Day One, where he recants his day, including the discovery of a farewell letter from his son, a college freshman facing struggles and too embarrassed to tell his family.
In a rush of emotions and in a fast-paced, page-turning reading event, Dave details the days and nights of his search for his son. You feel Dave's hope and anguish, through optimistic clues and dead ends. You become Dave's friend, riding with him in his car, hoping he doesn't fall asleep at the wheel or crash his car at his high speeds. You wonder, along with him, if the decisions he's making are the right ones. You hold your breath when he passes out cash in the worst parts of cities in an attempt to glean information of his son's whereabouts. Believers will pray with Dave when he finally surrenders his hopelessness to God and all will gasp in amazement at the way God responds.
The Father's Love is a short gift-sized book that's all heart, hope, and healing. Readers, including non-believers, will be shocked at the miracles God works in the life of Dave and his son, David.Read more ›
