I did some research on the internet before I found this book and it was just bits and pieces of information.

A love for American trains started in my youth in Southern Indiana, and continued to grow while riding trains in Colorado, Arizona and California.

The Fight for Maglev is an amazing journey through the genuis of invention and the policies of prevention that have kept America from harnessing this homegrown breakthrough technology and leading the world in 21st century transportation and energy storage. This provides the kind of grand challenge we need to mobilize, motivate and manufacture a renaissance in U.S. technology leadership. It provides a stunning expose on the inaction and incompetence of elected leaership in grasping the value of what Drs. Jim Powell and Gordon Danby have achieved. The book should be a must read in every college of engineering and public policy advanced degree program looking to the future. It should inspire young minds to carry on the discoveries of Powell and Danby. A wonderful book.

Those who profess to be leaders, be they in the 1% or 99% class, should recognize the message and suporting data in this book as a 'FINAL CALL' for America.

This is not another book about 'the need to do something' but a book about how the implementaqtion of existing advanced American Maglev technology can benefit all. Unlike a 'Road Map', it is a Blue Print for change on par with the introduction of the auto and airplane.

In short, this is a classic story of..."You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink". Business, political and educational leaders who continue to ignore the urgent message from inventors Dr.James Powell and Dr. Gordon Danby do a disservice to their country.

Objective Canadian, Bill Thompson, B.S.Bus.& Econ., M.Ed. Crowsnest Pass, Alberta

A love for American trains started in my youth in Southern Indiana, and continued to grow while riding trains in Colorado, Arizona and California. Also even seeing American trains in the sugar cane fields in Negros, Philippines shows American greatness in trains. Seeing the train museums across the country like in Golden Colorado or Altoona Pa, shows the greatness and love American once had for trains. Maglev, another great American train is now in Japan, Germany, China and soon to be Korea. Why not keep the greatest train adventure in the US? It belongs here in the day that we need alternative transportation that does not need wheels or fossil fuels to run. Why does George Jetson need sprockets?
