I thought his older book "Excellent Investment Adviser" book was even better.

By far the best book I've ever read, I'm now a huge fan and afterwards I subscribe to his annual subscription of financial advice on his website.

As a seasoned financial advisor with 20 years of experience, I sure wish this book was around when I started out. Mr. Murray would have saved me many years of pain. That being said, the words on the pages aren't nearly as effective unless you take action. If you are starting out in the business or have been at it awhile and would like to get to the next level (I'm not implying just making more money but rather working with the types of people you want), buy the book.

Great strategies of how to set up financial plans for clients. Most of the other books are about marketing and sales, but this also covers how to set up plans for clients, and use a financial calculator to determine how much they should save each month to meet their goals. I thought his older book "Excellent Investment Adviser" book was even better.

Format: Hardcover
are the tenets of Murray's book, to an advisor who has been in the business for a while already. This may be the ultimate blueprint for someone just entering the business (and I would recommend for that purpose). But for those somewhat established, Murray presents the blueprint without providing solutions or specific course of action to "get there". Everyone's recipe for success will be somewhat different, but having this roadmap to being a successful advisor, albeit in theory more than substance, can set the path for a long and successful financial practice.
