I found this book quite hilarious. It is totally sarcastic which fits my style, ironically it can be quite eye opening. The book is presented almost like a non-fiction, giving you the key to absolute happiness. The key, stay away from reality at all cost.

I loved it because I could identify with a lot of the narrative from Bonnie Trachtenberg. My friends and I tend to have these conversations that are quite far fetched but they are usually a relief in the middle of a stressful day. It is refreshing to know we are not the only delusional ones.

But it also brought a more serious topic up for me, and that is how the media and our delusions can sometimes affect our expectations in life, making our goals less realistic and our life more frustrating.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book when I ordered it but it quickly had me in hysterics. I am a very practical person who spends 90% of her awake time in the real world and so I wasn't sure I would relate to this topic. However, once I started reading, I quickly got sucked into the satirical humor and found myself laughing throughout. Reading and giggling under the blanket at night (the only time I normally spend in any sort of delustional thinking is when I sleep) I repeatedly found myself making mental notes of funny but great ideas. I think everyone can find something to relate to in this book. I certainly did!

This is a refreshing and fun self-help book which encourages the reader to better their life by using the art of delusional thinking, using such things as fantasy and daydreams!

Written in a tongue-in-cheek way and with good humour, with such chapters as; Be a Star or Just Act like one. The reader will find this book highly entertaining and it will really make you smile as you read Bonnie's thoughts and suggestions. The book is not that long either so can easily be read in one sitting. This is my kind of self-help, just good light hearted fun nothing heavy, and I actually did learn a few things too!

Well this one was a HUGE surprise! I found myself laughing out aloud, exclaiming and thinking "oh my goodness! I do that!" There were moments when I recognised traits in other people I knew, then times I thought 'this author can see inside my head'. It is a fun and refreshing read, very cleverly put together and you will want to read it in one sitting if you can. Often tongue in cheek, there is nevertheless a moral running through this book. From the jazzy cover to the final page, it's pure entertainment.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but it was recommended to me by a friend who loved it. One word: FUNNY! I saw so many people I know in this book and I bet everyone will. The author gives you a complete "road map" to the delusional lifestyle and teaches you how delusional living is the key to happiness. She may be right! My favorite chapter was Ixnay on the Idskay (Nix the Kids)! Makes you wish you never had them. LOL! The book will take you a short time to read, and then you'll want to read it again and again and share bits and pieces with your delusional friends. Really entertaining!

I really enjoyed Bonnie's first two novels and when I started to read her new one, "The Fine Art of Delusional Thinking" I realized that I was getting to hear Boonie's own take on being delusional and enjoying it. Shouldn't we all? I highly recommend her book because we just don't laugh enough nowadays. Her book took me into a happy place where "Happiness Means Never Having to Have a Reality Check." Now she tells me!

My favorite line in this book goes something like, "If you find yourself falling back into reality one of your delusional friends should be able to pull you back in before you realize what's happened."

I live what many would call a delusional life, I write and crochet for a living, but not long ago I had fallen into the trap of the nine to five grind. Only by listening to myself did I gather the courage to try to make it outside the box.

Although most of the stories contained in TFAODT are tongue-in-cheek, they hold a nugget of truth. For instance, if you want to live your life a certain way don't be bullied into living a normal life, also marriage and children aren't the answer for giving your life meaning after you've given up your real dreams. You will just lose yourself in the demands of others until you're gone or you build up enough resentment that no one can stand to be around you.

I love how Bonnie pokes fun at the delusions that are poisonous (he'll marry me someday even though he's married to someone else right now) and the others that finally give you permission to build an inflatable deck for dinner parties. When you follow your passion you're going to be okay, even if that means living with mom and dad. LOL
