This is the first piece of fitness equipment to incorporate all of the dynamic benefits of cardio, sculpt, core strength and balance training into a single, complete system that will help YOU lose weight and get the body of your dreams in just 60 days!

Kit Includes

Included in the Firm Zip Trainer is the Zip Trainer Medicine Ball, 3 lb yellow soft weighted ball, 3 DVDs (Rev!, Peak!, and Barefoot Abs - Bonus), Fitness Guide, Nutrition Guide featuring an all-new Flat Belly Diet and 60-day mix and match meal plan, and a 60-Day VIP Web Club Membership where you'll receive access to the 15-minute Jump Start workout (to watch online or download to your PC)!

All-In-One Design

An ingeniously simple 5-pound fully zipped fitness tool, with a removable 3-pound Core Ball, can be used 8 different ways to do more than 200 highly effective exercises that melt away fat and sculpt your muscles to perfection. This all-in-one design is the most significant update to the fitness ball in years, and was designed to make your workouts ... a ball! The "squish factor" creates dynamic and reactive moves that will target those deep muscles you didn't even know you had and that's what makes the Zip Trainer so effective. It's truly unlike any other fitness product available.

7 Workouts on 3 DVDs

In Cycle 1 (Rev!) The FIRM Master Instructors Allie, Stephanie, and Emily build a strong fitness foundation with three 15-minute workouts and a Jump Start program all designed for maximum weight loss that will get you ready for what's to come! In Cycle 2 (Peak!) The FIRM Master Instructors Alison, Kelsie and Annie put a greater emphasis on balance and deep body sculpting with three workouts that will push you like nothing you have ever done before! Lastly, Barefoot Abs, led by The FIRM Master Instructor Alison uses scientifically-proven core and ab exercises combined with fat-blasting Short Burst Training intervals to shrink your waistline and reveal that sleek, sexy, flat stomach in no time.

Balance/Lift

Use the Zip Trainer to balance on to intensify core training with a bit of cardio! Zip Trainer can also be lifted in any fashion for added resistance to your workout. Both exercises offer a great deal of core stabilization training.

Step/Toss

Zip Trainer can be used by stepping on it for a fat-blasting cardio workout. You may also toss it to engage the entire body during playful cardio and power moves, especially with a partner!

Kneel/Roll

Kneeling on the Zip Trainer (unzipped and laid flat) for comfort during push-ups or core conditioning is a quick and easy way to burn calories! Also try rolling it while engaging the core to improve strength, coordination and agility.

Stretch/Lean

Don't forget to stretch with the Zip Trainer to increase flexibility before and after your workout. Leaning on the Zip Trainer will also add instability or challenge your balance.

ANOTHER UPDATE : I love these 15 minute workouts more and more every day. This trainer is kicking my butt (which was hanging a little low before so it was easy to kick). I'm a couple of weeks in now and am loving this more all of the time.

UPDATE: I finally decided to really try this and the videos...so far it am loving it! I really feel the burn but am having fun working out with this. I don't dare weigh in yet because let's just say Christmas was a big feeding frenzy for me and I don't wanna know. But after using this a few times, I am feeling motivated and better. I can really feel the difference.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:

Well, this is different. The ball zips in half to insert a smaller 3lbs medicine ball in the middle. When zipped open, the large ball can be laid flat and used for a variety of exercises, including push ups or as a bosu ball for balance and core training. The little 3lbs ball can be used separately as well, including being used while you do step core training on the flattened bosu. And when zipped into a beach ball sized pink medicine ball, with or without the additional three pounder inside, the large ball can be used for a number of fun and interesting training moves alone or with a partner.

I have been playing with this since I received it, watching the videos and eating Ding Dongs. But I have to say, after just a few minutes of testing this out and playing yesterday, I am feeling that soreness of unknown muscles that I haven't felt in some time, mostly around my midsection. I am going to get serious with this thing because it is a legitimate piece of workout equipment.

The videos are, so far, entertaining and motivating. So that should be good. The ball on its own is surprisingly well made.

I'm always looking for ways to shake up my workout since, to put it plainly, I kind of hate exercising. But everything "different" I try--Zumba, Bikram, spin--starts out OK, maybe even great, but I always end up back to the basics of alternating between the treadmill/elliptical, followed by a few arm exercises at the weight machines and a round of sit-ups.

And here's why: While it's boring, I can do it on my own terms, at my own speed, whenever I have time and listen to music or podcasts or, heck, even read a book or watch TV to distract me while I'm doing it. In short, it's the least of the evils (boredom, time, pain) of exercising. I've tried plenty of at-home DVDs but, again, a quick run or bike around the neighborhood always ends up being the fall back for when I can't get to the gym and Jillian Michaels ends up gathering dust on a shelf with her yelling and her perfect abs. Ease of doing it + minimal annoyance and self-loathing inducement = sticking to it, at least for me.

This set comes with seven DVDs, a 3-lb (which, even for a beginner is pretty lightweight) weighted ball and a larger, soft ball that zips in half with the weighted ball serving as its core. So, it can be used as a (light) medicine ball, but it also has some firmness and can be unzipped to use as a sort of step for certain moves or a base for helping with sit-ups.

I tried the first DVD in the set and while I did work up a sweat, it wasn't any more exhausting than interval running on the treadmill, plus the downside is I had to listen/watch the video for the while time and thus had no distraction, so while it was only 25 minutes of workout, it felt slower than the 35 minutes I usually try and do.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I love The FIRM videos that I own (Express is my go to), and most of my exercise videos barely leave the dust jacket (ahem P90X and Zumba) and don't even get me started on my collection of exercise coat-hangers now that I've traded my gym membership for the honor of being mom's taxi service (row machine, treadmill, bosu ball... yes, I need an intervention). I do have a base, but a somewhat pittily one. I am really not sure how this product would work for someone very out of shape. 2 months ago I rode 100 miles around Lake Taupo in New Zealand. It was a wake up call. I finished, but I was sloooowww. Unfortunately I hit the snooze button and preceded to get on my bike zero times since returning - and then barely completed my 20 mile "quick & easy" ride (darn you Bay Area hills!). I'm a curvy girl - I have a good base - but I have PITIFUL core strength and I am not in my twenties anymore. So, with that warning, I think it actually is worth the space and the price.

The Zip Trainer and Core Ball:
At first, I thought this was going to be like the Bosu Ball - which is a cool for people with knee injuries like myself, but takes up a lot of space and loses it's luster. Actually, I think the zip trainer is MORE useful than the bosu ball because you can use it in more ways.

When unzipped, the zip trainer can be stepped on like a squishy platform causing some instability that works your core. A lot. It can also be used for planks and other floor exercises. One negative is that on smooth surfaces (e.g. my wood floors) it slides. They use a yoga mat in the videos. I wish that they had incorporated some texture to avoid this.
