Maybe I am just waxing nostalgic because we are a few weeks away from the Presidential Election, but this book really spoke to me.

The book is fine. I purchased it because the organization that I belong to is planning a First Ladies Tea and was looking for and was hoping to find some recipe. Most of the recipes were not meals and I was looking for dessert type things. It has some, the price was right, it was well package and as it was descripted. The error was my part, I purchase two books, this one and another with the same, different cover and different author listed, so I thought it was a different cookbook, but turned out to be the same one. My fault entirely.

A wonderful compilation of stories of the Presidents and First Ladies, their times, and the food considered appropriate for executive guests. (My daughter, plauged with epilepsy, was touched the gentle treatment Mrs. McKinley was given in relation to her seizures.) A good choice for history buffs, cooks, and people intereted in a good read.

Too old fashioned for my taste, and too much story telling. I didn't feel like making any recipe. Not attractive at all.
