Exceptional results....coming from an exclusively pumping mom,
This review is from: The First Years Breastflow miPump Double Electric Breast Pump (Baby Product)
I had trouble early on with breastfeeding and had to go back to work right away, so I am an exclusively pumping mom. I started with Medela (pump in style), then switched to this pump about 2 months ago. I can not believe how great this pump is, especially for the price. The shields are comfortable, the handle allows me to pump completely handsfree (just need a secure place to rest the bottles), it is very quiet, and I am getting more milk! It does not suck as fast as the Medela, but it doesn't have to....it has what I would describe as a vibration to it that provides more stimulation and is actually quite comfortable. I have now reached my 6 month goal, but will continue to pump due to the ease, comfort, and results this pump is providing. I can easily get 30 oz's pumping just 4 times a day! I highly recommend this pump!

A Great Electric Pump for the Price!,
This review is from: The First Years Breastflow miPump Double Electric Breast Pump (Baby Product)
The first thing I noticed about the pump when I received it was how small it is. The motor fits in the palm of the my hand which I love. The first thing I thought was how easy this pump would be to carry with you. The double pump also comes with an adorable brown and blue tote bag in which to carry your pump. It is a stylish, unnoticeable way to transport your pump if you need to take it to work or on a trip. The pump fits the Breastflow bottles which is another factor I love because I can pump right into the bottle and then just put on the nipples when it is time for him to eat. The less you have to move breastmilk around, the less chance it has to come in contact with bacteria and other things. When I tried the pump, I found it was super easy to use because it comes with a handle that connects to both parts of the pump so that you can pump both sides but only have to hold the pump with one hand. The pump is relatively quiet when you pump. I still think that others would know you were pumping when you are using this but it is much quieter than other pumps that I have used. The suction and strength of the motor were fantastic - comparable to a higher end pump that I had used. This pump also has the ability to be battery operated which is wonderful because you can pump anywhere. As long as your batteries are not low (takes AA batteries), it works just as well as being plugged in to electricity. There are few cons to this pump that I found. 1) You can not purchase larger breast shields for this pump. This can be a little bit of a struggle if you are a larger breasted woman. I wouldn't let this deter you from this pump though. 2) It is an one person use pump so you can not share it or sell it later. For the price though, I do not see this as a major issue. 3) You can not just pump one side - you have to always pump both sides. The pros of this pump far out way the cons though. 1) The cost - super affordable compared to many other brands of pumps. 2) Lightweight - I have seen and carried pumps that much heavier than this one. It weighs about 2 pounds, maybe less. 3) Compact - love this! 4) Cute design 5) Discreet way to carry it - I love the tote bag - it is trendy and looks just like a purse. Overall, I would definitely purchase this pump for an affordable way to pump for my babies. I have used this pump for 7 weeks exclusively so I could write an accurate review. I really do love it and would highly recommend it.

I bought this item hoping it would boost my milk production. I could not afford an expensive pump. I tried a manual pump first which did not work well. This pump did get my milk flowing. When you open the package, all the attatchemtns are a bit overwhelming but once it is put together, it is fairly easy to use and move around. This pump is fairly compact and the bag is great. It is very quiet compared to the medela. The T-Bar is great to use because it leaves a free hand; however, it is akward and takes some getting use to. I wish this pump offered more suction power. I have large breasts and have to use the highest power. If there was a stronger power, I think I would get more milk. I think this would work very well if you have smaller more firm breasts.

This pump gets the job done at a great price!! My only complaint is that I prefer the medela bottles over the bottles that come with this pump and of course the bottles aren't compatible. Also, the breast shields that came with the pump were way too small for my breasts (I'm a 38DD) and I had to call the company for larger ones. They did send them though free of charge which definitley impressed me! Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and saved probably at least $100.

I am writing from my husbands' account.Just switched this pump on. And its really great! I have Medela Harmony and its awfull. It costed me smth about $30. i spent 30 mins to pump both breasts. And it was not comfortable to pump. Hands become tired (i needed 2 hands to pump), it was pumping too hard for my nipples so most of the time they became a bit purple. Shield became warp so while you pump milk was leaking out. THIS PUMP IS GREAT!!! shields are soft. the strength of pumpimg is adjustable from very gentle to a strong-enough level and you feel it not like "fooooooof fooooooof" but just like "foof-foof-foof-foooof foof-foof-foof-foooof" and it really feels as a sucking of a baby! recommend it to everyone!

When my daughter was born in 2006 I bought the cheapest pump I could find which was around $130 at the time. It served its purpose perfectly but did die right around the time I was done breastfeeding. When my son was born in 2010 I was searching for a new pump and read several reviews about this item and more expensive ones. I wasn't sure what a more expensive pump could have done that my cheap first pump didn't do, so I decided to go for it on this one despite some negative reviews. I figured worst case I would have to buy another one if this one was not good. I have found that pumping milk is a practiced skill, and that the care for the equipment must also be adhered to. I'm not sure if some of the negative reviews come from people that are just new and uncomfortable with pumping and therefore unable to let down, or if they have received defective equipment, or they are not properly assembling and caring for the pump. However, I could not be happier with this pump. It has worked perfectly for me for the last few months since returning to work full time. I emailed the company today to find out where I could buy spare valves to have on hand just in case. A representative emailed me within hours soley to ask for my name, address and phone number so they could ship me some. Free of charge, no questions asked. I am so glad I didn't spend 4 times as much on another pump that would have accomplished the same results. Even with returning to work I am able to pump more than enough to feed my 5 month old child and donate to our local milk bank. Even if this pump were to die today and I had to buy another one to get through the next 6 months, it still winds up being cheaper than the more expensive brands. Women that experience difficulty, keep at it. It takes time, practice, and comfort to get used to pumping. But once you've got it down, a pump is a pump. And this company certainly seems to have wonderful customer service.

I am using my husband's account to post this review. I liked this pump until, I like the others, had power reduction in the motor. In my case one side would pump at full steam and the other was pumping at the first speed. I called the 1 800 number and spoke to one of their representatives. Even though the warranty had expired, she express mailed me a brand new pump. Not just the motor an entire new box with everything we had originally purchased. They also included three etra sets of tubing, and extra set of valves, two extra shields and an extra bottle. They also included shipping labels so I could send the pump motor in for thier engineers to take apart and study. Now after the amazing customer service I will make sure to buy Learning Curve products. It nice that they stand behind their products.

I used the hospital grade medela pump for 2 months. That pump worked well, but pinched and hurt. This pump works great without the pain. It's so tiny you can easily carry it anywhere if needed. It comes with a cute tote bag too. The only thing is that I wish it came with bottle adapters to pump in ANY Bottle like the double deluxe version does. My budget wouldn't allow me to buy the more expensive double deluxe version so I just bought this one. It works great, but I wish it came with the bottle adapters that the more expensive pump comes with. I end up pumping into the 1 bottle it came with and pouring the milk into the other bottles or into the freezer bags. That's the only other thing, it doesn't pump directly into the freezer bags like the medela pumps do. But to me, I can just pour and then clean the bottle for the next pumping session...so no big deal.Great pump, great price. Highly recommend!

Terrible Pump,
By Mom of Two "K" (Cincinnati, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The First Years Breastflow Mipump Single Electric Breast Pump (Baby Product)
I borrowed a pump from a friend for my first son, but she no longer had the pump when I had my second son. I bought this pump because it was inexpensive, and I was only going back to work part time, so I did not need to use it everyday. The first month it worked wonderfully, I was so pleased with it, and the customer service I received from the company, but that quickly changed. After using it 3 days a week, twice a day, for one month, the pump lost suction on one side, causing me to have to use the pump as a single pump, taking twice the time. I called the company, and they sent me a new pump, and, of course, a month later, the same problem. I am now on my 3rd pump, and I realize now that the parts that connect to the tubing are not working correctly, either. I am lucky to get one working shield, and usually have a hard time getting it to work at all. It is worth the money to spend on an expensive, well manufactured pump, DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Best pump,

I love this pump! I have been using it 4 times a day (at least) for the past 2 months and have had no problems whatsoever. I pump between 4-8 ounces every few hours with it for only 15-20 minutes of pumping. I see that people have had problems with the suction on their pump. Before you start pumping, MAKE SURE that the valves are tightly secured to the unit or there will be NO suction. The valve is the little round part with the rubber flipper attatched to it. I was frustrated when I got no suction, but then my husband reminded me to put the valves back on after I cleaned it. It's quiet and comes in a nice case that makes it handy to take to work with me. I would definitely recommned this for the every day pumper!
