The characters in the story are those that are eerily similar to co-workers or teammates readers will more than likely have or had in real life.

I am not sure why anyone would want to buy this book. I thought it would be a short version of the original but it is a review. It is a total waste of time which is worth more than the money spent on it.

Using a unique approach for a business management tome, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team author and organizational management expert, Patrick Lencioni, invokes a fable to explore the dynamics of good team management. He outlines five principles team leaders need to inspire members to reach better results.

While Lenconi's knowledge of the subject is apparent and his entertaining presentation style features real-life workplace situations, personalities and drama, the "how-to" is short on fixing the perfect team when things go awry. Trust, conflict, commitment, accountability and results are dynamic tools for a winning team, but how do you sustain team effectiveness during times of changing organizational needs, economic downturns or staff turnover? Nevertheless, Lenconi presents a good refresher for managers who already knew, but forgot.

The expert guide does a great job of capturing a snapshot of the actual book and wets your appetite with the information it provides, making you want to learn more. The streamlined version escorts the reader through its five dysfunctions of a team and briefly expands on each point. This allows the reader to grasp the key concepts and apply them to their professional lives where necessary. Readers may relate better to different portions of the book, but overall I think anyone who works with a team on a day to day basis may want to recommend this read to their team members, seeing as it has great information that can further enhance and solidify the relationships already in place. Definitely worth the read.

After reading "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team... in 30 Minutes" I felt as though I had just left a short class on how to feel better about dealing with people in a business setting. Using clear and concise points from the original text by Patrick Lencioni, the reader is shown a small glimpse of the world that Lencioni created to help share his team building skills with us. I did not expect there to be so much information present in such a small text, but it is packed with valuable advice. It's an easy read for those on the go and even included a nice key terms section in the back to help anyone not familiar with the text subject.

This 30-minute primer highlights the key elements of Patrick Lencioni’s popular guide on corporate leadership, “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable.” It takes a simple and honest look at the book, including critical acclaim from leading news and trade publications like Harvard Business Review, to a critique on Lencioni’s research methodology. The primer provides a concise summary of the fictional premise of the book, which sounds intriguing, as well as its flawed cast of characters whose personalities are so prevalent in business today. Issues like team conflict, commitment, and restructuring are all tackled head on in Lencioni’s book. The primer also provides an overview of the takeaways of Five Dysfunctions of a Team and, most importantly, how to apply them.

The 30 minute recap of Patrick Lencioni's "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team" is a quick review of the concepts of the original book. The 30 minute review takes the reader through the five dysfunctions of a team but also gives additional input for improving on team performance by expounding on Patrick's main points. The 30 minute review is a fast read and a good "Cliff Notes" version of the original book that allows the reader to grasp the original's concepts quickly. I would recommend the 30 minute version for those that want a quick review and need to be able to glean the main "take-aways" quickly in order to build an effective team. The 30 minute version can provide this. However, I recommend reading the original to fully grasp the five dysfunctions in full.

After reading the Critically Acclaimed Bestseller; "The Five Dysfunctions of a Team in 30 Minutes - The Expert Guide", by Garamond Press,
I came away with an enlightened perception and clearer understanding of the dynamics of creating and maintaining a successful executive
leadership team.

The author skillfully uses a fictional fable-style format to emphasize the 3 major components needed to build and nurture a cohesive team
environment, those being trust, commitment and accountability.

The one thing missing that would further strengthen the above-mentioned assertions is the inclusion of research and conclusions of
independent studies.

Overall, this book was enjoyably educational and I would not hesitate to purchase other books written by Garamond Press.

If you want the spark note, repetitive, bullet point summary of Patrick Lencioni's book about team leadership then this is the audio book for you. While the actual summary and discussion of the book is probably only a half hour there are several long chapters about the author and reception of the book before getting to that. While vaguely interesting it seemed like a lot of fluff before getting to the point.

In regards to the actual plot points, well they seemed a bit obvious and repetitive as well. Lots of time was spent discussing concepts like conflict and responsibility on an extremely elementary level. The entire hour and ten-minute file felt like a dull, but positive, summary of a book that I don't really want to read. Perhaps if you're looking for overly obvious approach to how to run a better business team I'd recommend it, but I think I'd just recommend reading the original fictional story this summary is inspired by in the hopes of it being more entertaining.
