It is not often that someone can so masterfully combine genres as Adam Said has done in his book, "The Flames of Perdition." Part sci-fi, part western, part mystery--"The Flames of Perdition" lures you into a haunting, suspenseful story with a twist of philosophy and allegory that will leave your senses reeling. The town of Atonement, loyally guarded by the Towns Marshall, John Cartwright, has seen better days. In an ironic twist, Atonement is actually a sordid seed bed ready to succumb to the nearby Dark Territory rather than a place of redemption, and John is all that stands between it and the evil that pervades the town when three mysterious strangers arrive. Uncanny deaths, inner demons, and unrequited valor will torture John and the townspeople, and John must fight not only for others' lives, but his own soul as well. "The Flames of Perdition," with its rich vocabulary, complex characters, and tense, convoluted plot, is a refreshing read. It will leave you breathless and asking for more from this unique author.
