More About the Author

Mark Waid, a New York Times bestselling author, has written a wider variety of well-known comics characters than any other American comics author, from Superman to the Justice League to Spider-Man to Archie and hundreds of others. His award-winning graphic novel with artist Alex Ross, KINGDOM COME, is one of the best-selling comics collections of all time. (Secretly, however, he prefers SUPERMAN: BIRTHRIGHT and his IRREDEEMABLE collections as his favorite works he's produced.)

With over twenty years of experience in his field, Waid maintains a blog at www.markwaid.com that is full of advice for beginning writers and experienced authors both.

5.0 out of 5 stars wonderful read July 2, 2001
Format:Paperback
This is a wonderful read, you start out with the Flash going ot his grandfathers place and while looking at his old pictres he thinks back to his first year as "Kid Flash". And that's where the story takes place, it shows you how he got his powers and his adventures with the Flash (then Barry Allen) facing people like mirror master. I just love this story because it's fun and you get a to see a New Barry Allen story and if your a fan you can't miss. A fun read tht has it's share of drama, if your a flash fan please get this book because you will love it like i do.

3.0 out of 5 stars Meet Wally West!! July 20, 2011
Format:Paperback
This collection looking into the early days of Wally West as both Kid Flash and then just Flash is a fun read. The art, except for Humberto Ramos, really holds up over time and the story is decent but hokey. The overall collection is a little weak but it is what it is, an introduction to a great character.
