Book Description

Brothers Mat and Dougie Carmichael thought nothing could be worse than being snatched from their home and brutally dehumanized in preparation for sale as sex slaves. But they learn their suffering has only just begun when they’re shipped to their new master’s home.

Reader discretion advised.

The Flesh Cartel, Season 2: Fragmentation

Sublime service, made to order.

Nikolai Petrovic is a man of refinement. He collects fine art, enjoys gourmet cuisine, and trains boutique sex slaves for some of the wealthiest—and most morally dubious—men and women in the world.

Charged by a wealthy client to buy a man to train but not break—to shape into a skilled, obedient slave who will yield with hatred rather than love in his eyes—Nikolai finds the perfect raw material in Mathias Carmichael. But there’s a problem: he was auctioned off in a lot with his beautiful younger brother.

Douglas Carmichael is a lovely, trainable thing, but Nikolai never takes on more than one slave at a time. As a master trainer who’s never once failed in his task, he knows he’s up to the challenge, but it will take formidable skill and planning to mold these drastically different brothers into their best selves. And in order to make them obedient to Nikolai and their future masters above all others, he’ll first have to break their greatest loyalty of all: their dedication to each other.

1.0 out of 5 stars Strong stomach needed April 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Okay so I read the first three books in the series and each were thankfully short. Don't ask me why I kept reading after the first one because all I can say it that it was like watching a train wreck. You don't really want to see anything bad but you can't seem to turn away.

I was hoping that the brother escaped and got retribution but when I finished the third book I was pretty sure they were screwed and it was just too horrible. Torture and repeated gang rape as the basis for the story with no other plot besides more rape and torture just doesn't do it for me. The books are really just nauseating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Horror, not erotica March 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I just couldn't enjoy any part of this installment as erotica. Prolonged hunger and thirst are really pushing it for me, and complete isolation tips me over the edge. Nauseating agony is not so good either. Even the sexual interaction at the end didn't work for me, and usually I like dubious consent.

It's great writing, and I respect the authors' aim of realistically exploring what psychological breaking techniques might be used by a truly effective white slavery network today. Just be prepared to read it as horror.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another frighteningly brilliant installment February 18, 2013
By Bec
Format:Kindle Edition
Book provided by the publisher.

Again we witness the brothers endure cruelty at the hands of their captors. But in some instants they receive unexpected kindnesses as well.

Although the brothers do not interact in this installment they are still what is keeping each other going. Dougie, already quite submissive is having a much easier time than our poor Mat, who can't seem to catch a break.

Again, like the others in this series, it is brilliantly written and keeps the reader hooked from start to finish. I anxiously await the next installment

5.0 out of 5 stars Pain, love, endurance, and the breaking point of a man February 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
You know after each episode I think it cannot be topped. Then I read the next one.

Twisted, messed up, nasty, and absolutely unequivocally the scariest series of books I've ever read this is simply mesmerizing. I continue to be amazed with Mat - I don't know why I am so absorbed in him but he is the one I want to cuddle, hug, and kiss away all the pain he's put through. The Energizer Bunny ain't got nothing on him. Dougie seems to be the more biddable, breakable, and he is but he's more too.

I don't know what else to say. The warnings are accurate. The term psychosexual thriller is definitely a good way to describe this - it gets into your mind and twists a key and then you wonder if it is your eyes you are looking out through in the end.

2.0 out of 5 stars Why am I still going? February 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Yes I still hate the writing and structure of this series. Yes I think the writers focus more on the rape and torture than actually writing a good book. But the story itself compels me to come back to see what happens next. I'm pulling for the brothers bot their new master is a compelling character despite being awfully evil. Still would never purchase a copy since I hate the lack of quality but as long as I can get free copies from netgalley or booklending sites for the kindle, I'll keep reading.

Got a free copy from netgalley for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm Addicted. January 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
With each book, I'm drawn deeper into this mysterious and brutal world of human slavery. It's not an easy read with it's dark elements but its a story that will stay with you for a long time.
