My five year old granddaughter definitely relates to Gigi and what she discovers about herself as a child of God. I enjoy books that cause discussion and lots of thinking... this book delivers! As an added bonus I purchased the DVDs of the same stories included in this treasury... my granddaughter loved watching them. Nice to be able to feed my granddaughter's heart and mind with good material!

OMGosh! I truly loved this book! There are the beautiful illustrations (by Renee Graef), the amazing message, the verses at the bottom of each page, the "Faith Imprint" on each page (to help teach children about Jesus) and lastly, the directions in the back of the book to make your own flowering cross.

This is so much more than "just a book!"

Only the innocence of a child can brake down the walls around the heart of the old man next door, Papa Jake. Katie's faith is refreshing and her excitement for the Easter celebration is contagious! She is able to share her faith and love with "mean old Jack" and have him praising God by the end of the story. He can then spread the love and shine his light by sharing his flowers with the neighborhood.

This is such a beautiful story, it brings tears to my eyes.

I love the verses at the bottom of the pages. Nice references to use when talking to youth or adults. And the Faith Imprint allows the reader to share personal stories and be able to bring this story to life; on a personal level.

My daughter is too young for this type of book but I look forward to the day when I can bring it out and share it with her. In the meantime, I will be sharing it with nieces and a nephew. I will be telling anyone who will listen, about this book and its message. What a wonderful story and perfect since Easter is just around the corner.

This book could also be used with a youth Sunday school teaching.

We love Gigi. She is so very much like both of our girls and she helps them understand who they are...God's Princesses. When describing Gigi to people who haven't heard of her, we say that she is God's "Fancy Nancy". While we are also huge fans of Nancy, we like that Gigi has Bible verses and always learns a valuable character lesson. This particular book is a collection of stories, which is nice as you do not have to buy multiple books. Its a nice size, and not too heavy as some compilations do get. The stories are sweet, and as I said before, they have short scripture verses. We highly recommend any and all Gigi books and videos.

Gigi LOVES pink. She has that in common with my daughter. We have enjoyed Walsh's series for little boys and felt it was time for my daughter to start getting to know Gigi. I like to make it fun learning about the Lord and living for Him at a young age. This book is a delightful way for a little girl to learn about being a little girl AND being a daughter of Christ. Gigi makes the exciting discovery that she is a REAL princess, a princess of the Most High King. She enjoys sharing this discovery with her friend, Frances. She also learns a little about what it means to be a princess of the King. This treasury will not disappoint.

This is an incredible book! A great book for children and adults too. I think there a lot of "Papa Jacks" in our lives. We learn how to lovingly share Jesus with others and included are great teaching applications as well!
Themed for Easter, it is an everyday book ... the gospel is never limited to a season!

Right before Easter I read The Flowering Cross by Beth Ryan to my daughters (4 and 2 years old). They loved the book, easily identifying with the little girl in the story... When Katie (the main character) was encouraged to love her neighbor (Papa Jack), an old man experienced the wonder of child-like faith and encountered the beauty of a risen Savior. It's hard to beat that message, right?

As a parent, I loved the teachable moments/suggested spiritual truths to discuss with your child (Faith Imprint) although I would recommend highlighting different points over several reads since there are so many. Second, I loved the overall theme of the book. My daughters were provided a clear example of how to love people who may not seem lovable. So, as a way to spend quality time instilling biblical truth in your children, this book is wonderful. However, as a story, it reads very choppy and is more about loving your neighbor than about Easter. There were moments when I thought I had skipped some pages. Beth Ryan's The Flowering Cross is written so that each page presents a spiritual truth. Again, this enables great teachable moments (which are most valuable) but not a smooth read from page to page as a story (which young children won't mind).
