This is not your run of the mill romantic saga - it has a dark side which I loved as it gave the book such contrast. I was really drawn in by the central character, a headstrong woman with a mind of her own, and the love stories that are woven into the story were compelling and heartbreaking. I couldn't put it down, and recommend it for great holiday reading as it is total escapism.

I could not put this fascinating book down, I just had to read and read and read a bit more. It was absolutely spellbinding and written in such amazing details following the characters beautifully throughout the story. A must to read.

I have always enjoyed family sagas and this one kept me riveted as it has some really dark characters and bizarre plot twists! It also has a great love story at it's center. Recommended!
