Editorial Reviews

Review

Following on from her unexpected success with The Good Spell Book, Kemp stays in that novelty/gift book market with an appealing cloth-bound volume decked out with ribbon page marker, "hand-written" special recommendations ("If you don't have a crystal ball, use a bowl of water") and a smattering of floral illustration as a suitably decorative way to encourage divination. While it might not really be possible to locate your future partner with an apple seed, it's fun to experiment along with cartomancy, candle magic, dice, tea leaves and even bay leaf prediction. This is fun, makes an attractive present, and ties in with the surge of interest in all things esoteric and alternative. As astrologer Kemp concludes, "Beautiful and wonderful things do happen, we attract them to us by living in the hope and expectation of them." --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Gillian Kemp is a freelance writer and astrologer who first encountered gypsies while growing up in rural Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Her horoscope columns appear regularly in Baby and Your Health magazines, and she is a frequent contributor to cable television. She lives in Buckinghamshire. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

More About the Author

I am listed on the Internet as one of "The Top Ten Psychics in the World." As an internationally acclaimed best-selling author and clairvoyant, I am able to prophesize the future using astrology, tarot cards, playing cards, crystal balls, palmistry, tea-leaves, flowers and dreams. As a medium, I may also receive messages from friends and relatives who have passed on. I am still on a destined path; perhaps you and I can help each other?

When I was twelve or thirteen I saw a spirit in my bedroom. I wasn't at all afraid. It seemed perfectly natural. In the morning I described who I had seen to my Mother who recognized the description as my Grandmother who had passed on.

My mother as a clairvoyant, used to read tea-leaves for neighbors who popped in just for a cup of tea. She told me she read tea-leaves to predict the future because my Grandmother and two great aunts did that too as a way of life. I think my mother knew I was clairvoyant and would encourage me to learn how to read tea-leaves, dreams and tell fortunes, by placing gifts to develop my clairvoyance in my "Christmas stocking."

Now, as a prolific writer on the subject, I am the author of several books and book kits, which have been popular in many countries including the UK, US, Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, France, and Japan among many others.

This handy book gives alot of ways for divining the future. It contains scrying, tea leaves, and using regular playing cards to tell the future. Doesn't go into a lot of detail on everything but is a good place to start if you are a beginner. I love the way the book is fashioned, kind of like a personal diary.

I have read Gillian Kemp's material for over 10 years and with each published book she provides new information to help guide us. This book includes various methods to foretell ones future. My favorite is within the middle section of the book on how to use regular playing cards to foretell the next three or twelve months along with many other layouts that allow us to ask questions.

I couldnt help but search for her online for a personal reading and sure enough, I came across her website and had a reading with her over the phone. Shes very friendly and her readings are highly accurate and the timeframes are right on - just like the book :).

A must have for anybody who would like to take a sneak peak at their near and distant future.

This is one of the best books on fortune telling out on the market. You'll explore many methods such as, cartomancy (playing cards), using crystal balls, reading tea leaves, and candle divinations. I would suggest this book if you wanted a book of easy ways to tell your future.

I have always wanted a sweet small book that explained several fortune telling techniques in a 'simple' & 'understandable' manner. This book is it!! It's small, adorable and complete for the novice. It's unfortunate amazon no longer carries it. The contents: crystal ball reading, hydromancy, apple divinations, playing cards-cartomancy, candle majic, dice, marriage folklore, tea leaves, bay leaf. Absolutely everything is to the point and well presented. It is so easy to apply. It feels majical holding this beautiful little book. Lovely and talky as the author writes in after thoughts by hand. It also gives the history of playing cards (description of every card and spread) and dice (ditto). It's full of tidbits of knowledge to apply immediately - no heavy study and not so complex it ends up on your shelf. All inclusive and wonderful! A big thank you to the author!

I absolutly loved this book. I expressed a great interest in the faith after I read this book. It all started when I was about 10. I recived this book around age 11 and even now ( age 14 ) I still refer back to this book. It's a great key and a great knowledge source.

Much fun :-)
