McPhee is a master writer, and we all stand to learn a great deal from him.
McPhee quotes extensively from his fishing diaries, and starts his book with a funny description of an epic battle with a shad on the Delaware River starts.
I believe that McPhee can take any subject, even the most mundane, and turn it into a fascinating book.
Beautiful book about a beautiful fish and a great country..Great gift for any fishing lover.Published 1 month ago by Lorenzo Mila
Incredible book all about shad.
They used to be so plentiful especially in the Pennsylvania area and Delaware that the river looked black.
Really interesting history.
Used McPhee's great book to research info on the shad. The Lambertville fest (this year April 26-27, 2014) has a powerful art component with both live and silent auctions. Read morePublished 7 months ago by jack pfanne
