Book Description

Love, the miraculous, eternal bond which binds two souls together. Lauryn Kensington knew the depth of it. Since the day of her eighth birthday, she had lived the power of true love; witnessed it with her own heart. She had talked with it, learning not even time or death can vanquish it. The Captain taught her these truths. And she loved him all the more for it.
But now, a grown woman, Lauryn’s dear Captain’s torment became her own. After ten years, Lauryn had not been able to help him find peace—the peace his lonely spirit needed so desperately; peace he’d sought every moment since his death over fifty years before.
Now, what of her own peace? The time had come and Lauryn’s heart longed to do the unthinkable—selfishly abandon her Captain for another—a mortal man who had stolen her heart, becoming her only desire.
Would Lauryn be able to put tormented spirits to rest and still be true to her own soul? Or, would she have to make a choice—a choice forcing her to sacrifice one true love for another?

5.0 out of 5 stars MUCH KLEENEX WAS NEEDED ! September 23, 2011

I love ALL of her books ! I have read almost everyone in the two weeks since I found her! Some of her books are not as evolved as I would like, but they are good anyway. THIS ONE was very well done, lots of plot.. I couldn't figure it out , how the mystery would be solved. Such a love story(S) ...... You will enjoy how the author ties up all the ends at the end ... The BEAUTIFUL ENDING in New Mexico with the two children wondering the wisdom of what they know and what they haven't done ?? !!!!! You will cry ! Enjoy ! Please! More books !

5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful story June 13, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This was a bit different that other books by this author. I have said it in other reviews "I don't think there is anything this author can write that I will not adore". If you love her other books you will not be disappointed in this one either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Can I buy a vowel, ghrrrrr THESAURUS Please! February 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I swear if I had been reading this book in a format other than on my Kindle I would have thrown it multiple times! If it wasn't the whiny; sniveling; heroine crying, ("moisture in her eyes") it was the author using only two words and forms thereof for laughing: "CHUCKLE" for masculine and "GIGGLE" for femine! I got so tired of hearing chuckle, chuckled, chuckling and giggle, giggled, giggling that I got to the point that I knew it was coming up and I just skipped that section altogther. It was irritating and annoying and I became annoyed irritated, and irritable! Nobody uses those two words that much. The story could have been really good had the author used a thesaurus and plugged in different verbs/adverbs every now and again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite
The storyline was interesting even though ghost stories aren't my favorite. The romance side was hindered by all of the "brutal" kissing scenes. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Strong potential but lacking
I enjoyed the possibility of the story very much. It was a unique premise but it is quite evident the author didn't take the time to do her homework. Read more
