(This review is being written only now because I was about to make a long-distance move when I ordered the bracelets mid-Nov 2012; as soon as my order arrived, the movers shoved it in one of many boxes I have only recently received.)

I ordered through Amazon the 2-pack para-cord survival bracelet in medium (8"). Shortly after I received the items, Claire at the Friendly Swede emailed to check on the order. She was forthright enough to inform me that they've heard some complaints for recent batches regarding the size, and wanted to make sure my order was okay, otherwise they'd gladly work to resolve any issues. The size of what I received was what I expected; no problem in that regard.

My finger joints are damaged and envision the possibility of having to undo the fastex-type buckle under wet/muddy/slippery conditions. The buckles of the products I received could be unfastened easily by my fingers, but were secure enough so as not to open by accident.

I prefer not to try unraveling (and re-braiding) either of the bracelets till there's a real need, but while looking them over I saw one way it could be improved: a small paint mark to help find the tip where I should start unraveling the cord. I looked over the bracelet quickly as if I were in a semi-emergency situation or in dim light, and couldn't find the tip. A very small, discreet dab of paint with good contrast against the cord color would help; eg, orange would work for both the black and desert camo colors.

Originally developed and used for military purposes, paracords are now fairly common items used in camping and for survival gear. I had used paracords before, but had never seen one in bracelet form until The Friendly Swede offered to send me some for examination and possible review. THE FRIENDLY SWEDE SURVIVAL BRACELETS BUNDLE is a package of three paracords that are intended to be worn as bracelets. The buckle of the bracelet is a simple plastic clasp.
It's rather simple to deploy the cord out of bracelet form. Just twist the end with the glue spots and unravel. However, please be aware that once the bracelet is unraveled, it's almost impossible to put back into a bracelet form again. These paracords have been rated for 350 lbs and when unraveled measures approximately 12 feet in length.

The bracelets come with a lifetime guarantee from The Friendly Swede. The company is willing to replace paracord items for free when a customer uses them: all that needs be done is submit a photo with a written story behind it.

Paracord bracelets are marketed as survival gear, but since receiving mine, I have noticed that they are also often used as a fashion item, particularly among teenagers and young twenty-somethings.

Overall, THE FRIENDLY SWEDE SURVIVAL BRACELETS BUNDLE is a group of three paracord bracelets that can be worn as accessories, but also make for a good piece of wearable survival gear.

These bracelets are phenomenal. They are woven very tightly, the colours a very sharp, and it feels like the paracord itself will be very strong if and when I ever have to use them. My wrist is 7.5" so I ordered the 9" in order for the bracelet to sit higher up on my arm to make room for my watch. If you do not want your bracelet up so high, then I would advise you to order the next size down if your wrist is of the same circumference. All in all, I am very impressed with these paracord bracelets.

Size: 8 inchesColor: Thin Blue / Red / White Line Verified Purchase
These paracord bracelets come as advertised. This is the 8" size which will fit a man with small wrists or a woman with typical wrists. People with larger wrists should not order this size as it will be tight on them.

These bracelets are extremely well made with a very tight weave and melted ends. The maker truthfully advertises the rated paracord load up front -- this alone should earn them your business, as other makers conspicuously leave this out or imply a higher rated load by saying things like "550 type". The rated load on these is 350 lbs. As with any such rating, this is the minimum, not the maximum.

I like the color accent in the bracelets. Another reviewer mentioned that these are intended to signify police, fire, and EMS. I am none of these and just like the color so I hope I am not offending anyone. The color strip (as mentioned by the maker) is a separate piece of rope which can shimmy from side to side when things rub up against it - something to keep in mind if you want your color accent precisely down the middle (personally I don't care). You can also turn the bracelet inside-out to just have a solid black one.

The clasp mechanism is made of plastic and seems durable enough. I have noticed that it can be difficult to get the clasp to fasten if the ends are even slightly misaligned with each other. When aligned, they go right together with a satisfying click and don't come unfastened until you want them to.

Like almost every other reviewer on here, I have not yet unraveled a bracelet to see the condition the paracord comes out in. I may attempt to do this with one of the 3 and would recommend you do too if you plan on relying on these bracelets for potential use in a survival situation.
