I have the Kindle version of this book, and while I enjoyed reading it, the many spelling and punctuation errors are distracting and maddening. The publisher and editors obviously didn't care enough to give it a read through before putting it up for sale.

There are some funny quotes here for baseball fans, but no one actually edited this thing. It has more typos than you'd care to count. In fact, I stopped counting because I was getting frustrated. Take it for what it's worth and don't pay too much. It's not an unpleasant way to have a few laughs as baseball season winds down. Check your English degree at the door first.

The game of baseball has had its share of colorful personalities over the years - from Casey Stengel to Bob Uecker; from Yogi Berra to Dizzy Dean; and from Bill Lee to Manny Ramirez. These guys always seemed to be having a great time, and their zany perspectives on just about anything and everything have entertained and amused millions of fans around the world.

Now, Peter Handrinos has compiled this very engaging and witty chronicle of baseball's most hilarious moments that will surely delight fans of all ages. I must say, he did a terrific job of gathering this information and presenting it in a very readable format; there's a lot of material in here, and some of this stuff I'd never even seen before. Handrinos obviously loves the game and did a remarkably thorough job of piecing all this stuff together; no easy task.

If you love baseball as much as I do, with all its lovable zaniness, you'll certainly love this book; quite possibly it is the funniest baseball book ever; and that's saying a lot.

I love baseball and especially the stories from the past. I enjoyed this book, but unlike its title, it's not the funniest baseball book. For me the Baseball Hall of Shame was a lot funnier even though it much shorter. Most of the entries were various amusing comments by different people inside and outside of baseball. Most were one or two liners. Definitely some chuckles but no real laugh out loud moments. It's a good bathroom book that you can pick up and put down whenever you want.

It didn't have my favorite baseball story that I heard in an interview with Mickey Mantle. During the off season Mickey, Roger Maris and Billy Martin went to do some hunting at a large ranch owned by Mickey's friend. When Mickey and his friend were alone the ranch owner said to Mickey "My favorite horse is old and suffering, and needs to be put down. I don't have the heart to do it, could you do it for me?" Mickey said he understood and would take care of it. He decided to play a joke on Billy and told Roger to play along. In the morning with everyone in hunting gear Mickey goes storming out of the house grumbling "That rotten &%*@#, we come all the way down here and now he says we can't hunt on his property. Well dammit, I'm going to shoot something!". He goes over to the horse and fires his rifle killing the horse. Before they could stop him Billy shot three cows.

I can always read a little funny quote or something similar. In fact, while in school, I made it my mission to read something funny every day (sometimes I failed to follow through), but research show it helps the brain.

So, laugh a little. And Ignore the typos.

I enjoyed this little book as well--you might like it because it's not a simple trivia book. It actually gives some interesting info about baseball: The Interactive Baseball Book for Kids: Baseball Trivia and Cool Facts (Sports Trivia Books)
