This review is from: The Future Art Factory (Kindle Edition)
NOTE: This is an early review, I haven't actually finished the whole thing yet...Jim Cavanah is a programmer and consciousness explorer. ("Stoner" would be much too simplistic of a label.) Jim discovers how to program his own brain and control how information is stored. He even figures out how to get into other people's brains and reprogram them. But what happens when his programs have side-effects and his own stored personalities take over? And why does everybody want to kill Jim? Will the Mongolian flesh beetle's appetite be satisfied? Mystery cyberpunk stoner geek lit! Love this thing! I feel like I'm reading a combination of Neal Stephenson and William Gibson with a dash of Douglas Adams thrown in for good measure. Or maybe just a pinch of Christopher Moore... To be honest, the Kindle formatting is a bit wonky, but the content overrides the form, so I won't deduct any stars. Paul has already updated the formatting at least once, so it might not be a problem any more... |
