More About the Author

I got fired from my last job.

It's true.

I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone like you?" And I'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is that sometimes being all sorts of awesome isn't fun for other people. They don't always tend to like it. lol :)

So I picked my pride off the floor, bought a laptop and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing stories that meant something to me was a million times better than working my ass off for someone who didn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul has never felt more satisfied.
My heart has never been more full.

I've never worked so hard in my life, but I love every second of it. I truly do.
It is SO worth it.
All of it.
Every moment.
The journey it took to get to this point- I wouldn't change a thing.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write to other people. Your word of mouth is my very best friend.... that and your reviews. :)
I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you.

I have to be honest, The Perfect Game stressed me out so much. It hit really close to home for me and I was troubled about it for days after. However, I did like Cassie and even though I wanted to smack Jack (more than once), his character is appealing. And I was happy with the ending, but going into THE GAME CHANGER, I really needed to see certain things happen. I really needed to see Jack redeem himself a bit more and I really needed a strong happy ending. That's a lot of really's, right? Well, I'm pleased to say that I am firmly a Jack Carter fan now!

Sterling sets the pace off strong by recapping what had happened during their time apart. I enjoyed that. I think it was important for Cassie to know that Jack was working hard to get back to her and to prove his love for her. As a result, I felt like I got into Jack's head more. I knew he loved Cassie in the first book, but in this book, I felt that he was truly devoted to her.

There is some drama in this book, but nothing like the first book. At least in my opinion. Cassie struggles to find a balance between her life and the life she's created with Jack. Jack's celebrity is causing a lot of problems for her personally and she doesn't really know how to deal with it. Now I admit, that would be really hard to adjust to being criticized constantly and I probably would have reacted the same way about some of the things she dealt with. But instead of talking to Jack about it, she let it build and the result made my heart ache. Not necessarily for Cassie, but more for Jack. Jack puts so much effort into proving his love and earning her trust back and I felt that he deserved to know what she was going through. BUT, I had to remember that they are a young couple just starting out.

For me the book didn't even really begin until almost halfway through...once we got past all of Jack's POV regarding what happened with Crystle, etc. Truthfully, I thought the story would begin right where the other left off, building up to the wedding, etc. It would've made for a far more powerful story if all of the things that happened came AFTER his proposal. This was just too much of a rehash of the first book.

Like others, I have to to agree that Cassie was downright annoying in this book, particularly when it came to sex. I hated how cold/prudish she was one minute and then a firecracker the next. It just made her come across as playing bizarre bedroom games. Of course that set up nicely with all the mental games she played with Jack as well. Truth be told, he annoyed me too with all of his obnoxious, he-man comments. It was understandable in the first book, as he was supposed to be immature, but this book made him appear more of an ass IMO. I guess I was just hoping for some character growth from both of them.

The author writes well. Unfortunately, this particular story came across as a rush job, and one that she did merely to satisfy the fans rather than having an actual well-thought out plot.

I really loved this book. The retelling of their time apart in the first third was innovative and fun. Was there drama after that? Yes, of course...no relationship is perfect, especially when doubts have been introduced in the past. However, I didn't think any of it was over the top or unbelievable. I found myself really falling in love with these characters. Also, in a literary world where we see so much about rock stars or business men, it was nice to have a change of pace and see an athlete's world. Finally, I absolutely loved the author's message about women putting other women down, and people looking to drag others down. It definitely makes the reader stop and think for a moment. Very well done!

Great sequel- almost as good as the first. I loved how believeable the story was and how it wasn't drawn out. Cassie and Jack still got it!

"This review contains slight F'n spoilers!!

I'm a hard core JFC fan girl. I savored every word I read knowing (but secretly hoping I'm wrong) this may be the last piece of that cocky a-hole I get.

Where do I start ....

Cassie. Dear sweet Cassie. I may or may not have been plotting a murder while you were being mean to my boy. While in TPG I felt every emotion for you - you almost wore me out this time around!!

I mean, you have Jack Fn Carter begging to love you. Really?!?
I'm not even going to elaborate on that-- I will repeat though. Just incase you may have missed it .......

YOU HAVE JACK FN CARTER BEGGING TO
LOVE YOU.

Let him love you. Shut your sassy mouth, pull up your big girlies, And fn don't leave him. Ever

Mmmmmkay!?

Moving on

This book continues where TPG left off - with their new life in NY and like with Jack playing for the Mets.
Cassie has to adjust to life in the spotlight and balancing her normal life with that. Seems simple right? Well then we get Jacks fn POV from the last six months of them apart.

Chrystal. Yeah remember her? Lying fake pregnant ex wife home wrecker? Well she's baaaack! Someone needs to high give her. In the face. With a metal chair. Five or six times.
Cassie and Jack have to deal with her drama and between that and all the other stress if being with a professional athlete - Cassie doubts her decision.

Yeah. Read my above statements about being annoyed with Cassie

There were quite a few quotes I highlighted that I want to share- but I'm going to pick my top 5 to keep this brief.

"This is grade A certified goods right here. You're lucky I don't charge admission"

Cocky much?!
