Manga Artists Vol 2

This is the portfolio of Gensho Sugiyama a Japanese artist who has a firm grasp on the concept of a cute girl. Everyone of them from the angel to the bunny girl are so adorable. My favorites would be the ones from the first section that are named after colors. White is the angel girl. Black is the devil girl. Orange is the bunny girl and so on. They all have such big eyes. The colors are bright, the art is crisp and printed on thick paper. Nicely done.

Now some content discription.

Pages 2 through 64 are all in full color.
Pages 65 through 75 are the artist sketchbook and comments.
Pages 76 and 77 consist of a step by step of the creation of the Black illustration.
Page 78 has the credits.
Page 79 has the artist profile.

I recommend it.

Volume 2 focuses on the artist Gensho, and he focuses on 90's style artwork. Shojo style :3))

I love this book

This book is beautiful! The anime characters featured are all girls- a cute style with big eyes (with the exception of 1 picture at the end of 2 boys). What attracted me most was the colors. If you are an artist like me, I always look for pictures that have very vibrant colors. I like blending 2 or more colors to the eyes, hair, and clothing of a character to give a picture a very professional look. This book does that. You can see how the colors blend together and fade into each other. Some of the pictures have color, fantasy, or modern lifestyle themes. If there is anything I am not too thrilled with, I suppose it may be some of the clothing. In some pictures it is very skimpy- but do not get me wrong, there is nothing inappropriate in this book. The pictures are all very beautiful. There are 64 color pictures followed by 12 pages of the black and white sketches of some of the pictures and the artist's comments on them. (All the pictures are by the same artist.) This book is well worth buying if you are an anime fan.
