Were the heavens and the earth created 6,000 years ago, as the Bible suggests? Or did the universe expand into existence nearly 14 billion years ago from a spontaneous "Big Bang"? Both dates cannot be right. Or can they? Imagine medieval manuscripts, written some 800 years ago, that could help us decipher Genesis and thereby pinpoint exactly when the universe began - an instant squaring, moreover, with our most up-to-date cosmological theories. Further, suppose these same manuscripts could help us extract from Genesis unequivocal timelines for the development of life on Earth, again precisely as identified by the latest scientific evidence derived from the fossil record. The Genesis One Code carefully examines the relationship between scientific theory and biblical teachings. The book approaches the origins debate from a fresh perspective informed by both scientific and spiritual research. The book demonstrates an alignment between the dates of key events as described in Genesis 1 and 2 with those derived from scientific theory and observation. This alignment provides a compelling perspective deserving of thoughtful consideration.

Review

Daniel Friedmann's breakout book, The Genesis One Code, provides the reader with an excellent comparison between biblical teaching and scientific theory. It is one read you don't want to miss. The Genesis One Code is masterfully done and is sure to create a lot of controversy." - Richard Sand, award winning author

Reviewed by Anne Billings for Readers Favorite 5 stars There will always be those who are unwilling to compromise on their opinion of how heaven, earth and all living things were created. However, Daniel Friedmann offers a rational and reasonable theory. I highly recommend "The Genesis One Code".

Launch into this enlightening trek that provides a startlingly poetic symbiosis between religion and science. Readers with a knowledge-craving, open mind will thoroughly enjoy this read and be delighted by its many elements and propositions. Night Owl Reviews

I could not put it down and it certainly did provide me with fresh insight as to how creation from a Catholic standpoint can be in agreement with creation from a scientific standpoint. Friedmann presented science and religion topics in a manner that was succinct and easy to understand, regardless of the reader's background. Catholic Science Geek

In his new book engineering physicist Daniel Friedmann shares his formula for converting "Bible time" to years as we know them in calculating the age of the universe, the sun, and life on Earth. Without any modifications, the formula consistently produces results that match scientific estimates. The Wall Street Journal, April 18, 2012.

More About the Author

Born in Chile and raised in Canada, Daniel Friedmann studies the origin of the universe and life on earth from both the scientific and biblical perspectives. He holds a master's degree in engineering physics and is CEO of a leading Canadian aerospace company.
Daniel Friedmann's first book, The Genesis One Code, demonstrated an alignment between key events and times as described in the creation narrative in the book of Genesis with those derived from scientific theory and observation. Through his writings, speaking engagements and appearances on television and radio, he wishes to help the young and all students of our world put science and the Bible into mutually comprehensible, and in turn respectful, contexts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book! March 17, 2013
Format:Paperback
Just exactly when did the universe begin?

When Daniel Friedmann, the CEO of a large aerospace corporation, MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd., shows interest in solving this ancient question, your ears perk up. You become doubly excited over the fact that he has thirty years' experience in the space industry, has published more than twenty peer-reviewed scientific papers on space industry topics and cosmology, authored DEEP SURVIVAL: WHO LIVES, WHO DIES, AND WHY, and has also studied religion from every perspective throughout his entire life. By all probability, he seems just the man to reconcile the Bible and Torah account of creation with scientific observation--if the two can be equated--and if he has enough passion to unravel clues dotting manuscripts as old as 800 years, and if he can compute the algebraic formulas necessary to merge logical scientific data with those religious artifacts. Accomplishing this task without being branded a heretic or a lunatic would prove daunting for most researchers.

Daniel Friedmann's new book may startle the most hardened skeptics.

Most people may be inclined to rest on either side of the debate. At one end, we have those who believe what the Bible and the Torah suggest, which is that the Earth and the universe were formed in six days, with a day to God being equal to 1,000 years in human terms. On the other hand, we have the scientific community, who profess to have calculated that the Earth and the universe are billions of years old.

They can't both be right. Can they?

Readers must explore hundreds of books to pin down a research work as carefully annotated, illustrated, and documented as THE GENESIS ONE CODE.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well written and easy to read January 25, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book brought many hours of discussion between my son and myself. We were both fascinated that there were more then 20 bible/science matches for events described in Genesis. My teenage son has downloaded the bible app and is reading the book for a second time. Well written and easy to read. An excellent perspective of the timeline between the six days of Creation in Genesis and the evolutionary process. Those who struggle to balance faith and science regarding earth's origins will have their questions answered.

Daniel Friedmann shares his explanation of our origins in both science and religious texts - reconciling these disciplines to point towards the single truth "God created...." and science supports! The book will inspire the reader. It is a winning work, a great read filled with wisdom, that will result in animated discussions and personal moments of reflection and connection. A must read for any parent struggling to answer the "how" questions when science meets the creation story in Genesis.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yup, Same old, same old. January 12, 2012
By Vince
EDIT (ADDN): "If I have an embroidered Jacket and each loop of strings have, coincidentally, an exact count of the sum of the value of each letter in Mohammed's name, Muslims all over the world will revere my Jacket as the Holiest of all Jackets."

In an analogy, this is what the ruckus is all about.

None of the reviews (that blatantly gave 5-star ratings) have any helpful insights on why they find it "Provoking", "excellent"--and made statements just for people to buy the book and read what it actually say. Why are there no Atheists or Scientists that have reviewed this book yet?

This first talk on Science against religion will be about "Faith-Based Science". While "faith", combined with the word "Science" really does sound as moronic as "Gay Jewish-African Nazi", faith-based Science isn't Genuine Science. Let's compress it in a nutshell:

===Science===
-Define a question Gather information and resources (observe)
-Form an explanatory hypothesis
-Test the hypothesis by performing an experiment and collecting data in a reproducible manner
-Analyze the data
-Interpret the data and draw conclusions that serve as a starting point for new hypothesis
-Publish results
-Retest (frequently done by other scientists)

===Faith-based Science===
-No Methodology done
-Take something from what Real Science has done so far
-Scour a preferred Holy book and see if there is anything you can link to what Science discovered
-If something is found, make a claim that this legitimizes your Religion as "truth".

Now we're clear of the difference, let's proceed to what I'm really getting at.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Lord Our God Is Truth January 28, 2013
Format:Paperback
Mr. Friedmann's book is now the cornerstone in my own search for TRUTH. For me he proves that God's word was handed down as a code to be understood 5000 years ago and 5000 years from now using everything there is to know about everything that is knowable.

Therein lies the ability to fulfill the "audacdity of hope" without the "tyranny of arrogance" or the hype of hypocracy. By bringing us all back to our Jewish roots it will enable us to understand the teachings of Jesus as he was taught.

I urge you to judge for yourself that Friedmann makes the truth of Torah preeminent and the word of God predominant.
