One issue that I have had with many "psychic protection" books is that they are written from the point of view of a single religious belief system. Michelle Belanger does an excellent job in this book of demonstrating different approaches to psychic protection, approaches which do not exclude any single belief system. For a spiritualist with... "complicated" beliefs, this book has helped me to find ways to incorporate many of these protections into my own belief system, without feeling like I am being hypocritical about what I'm doing.

Furthermore, it follows an easy-to-understand format, and illustrates each section with an on-going storyline that helps to introduce each of the points that she covers. The book's only drawback is that the dialogue in the story sections is a bit stiff (but if you're buying this book for the potential dialogue, you have WAY too much money on your hands. Buy something by Mark Twain, instead. Seriously).

Experienced, or more educated, psychics may find it too elementary, but for people (like me) who have only started to embrace the concept of psychic protection, this is an outstanding place to start.

Otherwise, this is an excellent book, and I am grateful to Ms. Belanger for writing it, and presenting the information so well.

This is a great book for anyone looking to know more about psychic work in paranormal investigation and also (or probably especially) anyone looking to know a few things about psychic defense. Please don't go into this book thinking you'll learn how to do things like they are done on TV shows like Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures, this is strictly a book dealing in the metaphysical/psychic end of the spectrum.

Michelle is a great author and the structure of the book helps not only the books flow, but helps readers establish the practical purpose behind every technique put forth.

Definitely recommended.

I have been looking for a book like this for a LONG time. This is the only book I have ever found that describes not only ghosts and hauntings in detail - from energy concepts to what defines a ghost to the difference between a residual haunting and an intelligent haunting - but that knowledge is fully rounded out by Bellanger's narration on how to effectively deal with spirits. She doesn't only address how to protect yourself when you go into a situation, she talks about how you can help clear a haunting. She also gives you adequate information as to how to explain the phenomenon to any 'victims' of a haunting. Because a large portion of those people who suffer from hauntings are simply unaware of how the spirit world functions, that information in this book alone makes it well worth the measly $10 Amazon charges for the Kindle version.

I wish I had written this book. Bellanger's writing style is down to earth (if a bit technical at times) but thoroughly accessible to readers of any skill set. I myself am a natural psychic medium and so these concepts were already familiar to me, but this was the first time I encountered someone of these concepts and theories written down, concisely and accurately, in one place - and in a way that I may easily refer to when I am dealing with a client who does not understand the mechanics of the spirit world.

Another amazing aspect of the book is that Bellanger has written it so that a hopeful skeptic, a Christian, an agnostic and even a Pagan/Wiccan may read this book and take information and experiences from it. Again, this is an extra value of the book that makes the $10 price tag worth the investment.

I have to recommend this book to those in the Paranormal Field and to others outside the field. Not only are viewpoints of Total believers represented, but also there is room for skeptics as well. Michelle Belanger's writing style is both intelligent and accessable, honest and provocative. This guide was excellent as a workbook and a reference, for Skeptic, Intuitive, Reasearcher, or anyone with an interest in the paranormal.

I also appreciated the multi-foundational belief systems referenced in this work. There is room for many beliefs here and Michelle respectfully ties these beliefs together with an open and accepting metaphorical explanations. This book is highly recommended!

What this book boils down to is this: Do you want to simply explore haunted locations with newly purchased, expensive paranormal gadgetry to scare the crap out yourself and your friends, or do you wish to involve yourself to the point of helping these spirits move on for their own sake or for the sake of the people who live in these locations? If your answer to this question is the later, than this is a book for you. Michelle Belanger (who often works with Ryan Buell from A&E's "Paranormal State") brilliantly takes you through the steps of survival steps set against the background of a real haunting. This book will help you if you suspect you are a sensitive or psychic and wish to develop these skills. She teaches you the art of cleansing a location (as well as yourself). She teaches you how to be safe when getting personally involved in these cases. She explains the differences between residual haunting, human hauntings, and non-human (spirits who have never been alive in human form) hauntings. She warns and teaches about demonic hauntings and possessions and gives you guides as to how to make it less likely for you to bring any of these entities home with you while still being attached to your energy. In order for this book to work for you, you have to believe in SOMETHING besides ghosts, whether it is a religious affiliation, God in general, a higher power, or simply the goodness in yourself. I have just gotten my St. Benedict's medal that is securely fastened around my neck and will remain there for the remainder of my life. But your own power of INTENTION will allow room for you to use whatever protective device you deem necessary to wear on your body to infuse with the power to call to for help and to store your inner skills and powers.Read more ›
