At the end of this book there is a short note. In part it says; "Mary E. Brady...wrote this story for her oldest son when he was eleven years old and is now sharing it with Kindle owners for their children."
What could be more fun to a bunch of 11-year-old kids than to have a haunted house right on their own street? And there's a new family moving into that haunted house! Ted, Jack, Shelley and Patty all live on Sycamore Lane. As the story begins they are sitting on Ted's front porch, watching the moving van being unloaded and a boy's bike getting wheeled into the garage. Soon the new kid, Charlie, invites the whole gang to a sleep over. Now they can finally look for clues and secret rooms.
The book is copyrighted in 2012, but it has an old-fashioned, simpler feel to it. It kinda reminds me of the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys Books books I read back in 8th Grade(which I loved), but these sleuths are younger. I feel this book is appropriate for grades 4-6. And for adults who wouldn't mind a trip down memory lane :) They don't write books like that any more.
