OVERVIEW of The Ghost in Me where Freaky Friday and Ghost Adventures meet

Myri Monaco has problems she doesn't know how to deal with: a crush on her best friend's boyfriend, a mother who's dating her science teacher, and a "punishment" for a science project that lands her in auditions for the school play (the last place she wants to be). But most girls don't have a ghost living at home who is willing to "trade places" whenever she's needed. Will ghostly possession be an easy solution when problems collide? Or will Myri lose everything to a ghost wanting to fulfill her own desires?

"Keeps the reader guessing." -- David Corbet

"Wenger provides plenty of humor along with suspense." --author Carole Thayne Warburton

"I definitely recommend it." L.D. Brown

Editorial Reviews

Review

This is the kind of book I loved to read when I was a kid--lots of humor, lots of suspense, fun characters... just the right blend for kids that want a fun, exciting read. --Rick Walton, author of over 80 books for children

From the Author

I wrote this book thinking that kids in 5th, 6th, and 7th grades would be its primary readers. I've been surprised to see that both older and younger readers like it. Given that, I'm glad I kept it a "clean" read. It's suitable for all audiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique idea March 8, 2011
Format:Paperback
I thought this was a great book. It is not just for girls, I think boys would like the concept too - even though the book was written from a girl's perspective. It has a unique idea that is fun for the reader to visualize. I got so into it that I actually dreamt that I was in the situation at the end of the book. The dialogue is believeable and also humorous at times. I would definitely recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made me laugh May 29, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book was funny, clever, and well written. I got the Kindle version, and my son (he's 9) loved reading it on my Kindle. I like having a few middle grade books on my Kindle for those times when we're stuck somewhere and my kids are bored.

Back to the book. The plot was new and imaginative, which is a nice thing in middle grade fiction. I definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ghost in Me January 29, 2012
Format:Paperback
Shaunda Kennedy Wenger's `The Ghost in Me' has touched on several young teen's interests. The subject matter has wide appeal to both teens and the adults that hope to relate to them. Myri is presented with common teenage situations with a new and interesting twist, a friendly ghost.. The mix of awkward middle school moments and ghostly interventions leaves the reader wondering "What if I had a friendly ghost of my own". This realistic fantasy has great potential for a screen play. I am anxiously anticipating the release of `Reality Bites' this summer.
