My 3 year old and I happened upon this book at the library. We have checked it out continually ever since while waiting for out copy to arrive. She has memorized the words to this book and to "The Ghost's Dinner". It's a fun book that I enjoy as much as she does.

I'm not a little kid, just one heavily into middle age. I
enjoy books with great illustrations. This one is fun...
absolutely delightful! I love the ghosts with binoculars and
MacGhost is marvelous. Kids of all ages will find themselves
smiling as they read.

My 20 month old LOVES ghosts and his favorite book for the last 3 months was A Ghost's Dinner by Jacques Duquennoy. I think Ghost's Dinner is better, but maybe that's just due to the mere-exposure effect as I read it at least 3 times daily (often more like 15) for months.
Spoiler alert!

My son is too young to appreciate the humor of this book. Charmingly, the ghosts search long and hard for the loch ness monster and return home unable to locate him. However everytime they weren't looking, the monster showed up! They find out when they get home and develop their photos.
