Pure bossa nova delight,

This review is from: The Girl From Ipanema (MP3 Download)
"The Girl From Ipanema" (originally titled "Garota de Ipanema," in Portuguese) is one of the all-time great pop songs. The cornerstone of the fabulous "Getz/Gilberto" jazz-bossa album, it features saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist Joao Gilberto, as well as Joao's then-wife, Astrud Gilberto, who typified the naif-ish melodic charm of the best Brazilian music of the early 1960s. The song was a global smash, and Astrud Gilberto rode the wave of success into a solo career in the United States. The entire album is an incandescent delight; this song is a summertime gem.
