If you are looking for entertainment, my daughters loved them. If you are looking for accurate Greek mythology, my son was quite appalled. My eight-year-old is a reluctant reader, but she could not put these down and begged for the entire series.

Trouble is brewing in MOA.

Penthe is going gaga over Acteon, Freya's necklace is missing, Artemis is busy preparing the games, and let's not forget the kitten wars between Aphrodite and Persephone.

Liittle Adonis( the kitten Aphrodite found) is a very spoiled kitten. Both Aphrodite and Persephone are very protective of Adonis. From Pesephone feeding dog food to Aphrodite forgetting to buy kitty litter, both goddessgirls are trying to prove the opponet that everything she does is wrong.

Artemis is very worried about Acteon and angry at Penthe. Penthe makes a very noticeable show of blowing a dramatic kiss to Acteon, trying to throw Artemis off on the archery contest.

Athena is concerned that Heracles won't be able to make it to the Heraean Games. He promises there will be a suprise after the games.

Williams and Holub are brilliant authors!

"The Girl Games" is about how four of the goddess girls from Mount Olympus Academy create the first-ever girls-only Olympics. Girls and goddesses from around the world come to compete, but the Goddess Girls can't get everything together for the games! Then they find out the games might be canceled! If the games were canceled they wouldn't get another chance for a girls' Olympics so they must make the games happen.

I think other kids would like this book because it puts a spin on the old Greek mythology. There are references to the myths, except the author tells you what happened as if they were happening in this century.

My favorite part is when Aphrodite is in charge of ordering supplies and instead of ordering 20 items, she orders 20 BOXES of the items! I think this book is special because it shows that if kids put their minds to it, they can do anything! I give this book a 5 star rating because it was funny, relatable, and a great read.
