5.0 out of 5 stars "Not again, Shirley!" April 23, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
My daughter loves this book. It really resonated with her. The characters are so relational (i.e. parents reading in bed on a tablet). I purchased this book because my daughter was going through a phase when she was constantly getting out of bed. Every time I got to the part when the character would get out of bed, my daughter would cry out, "Not again, Shirley!" It is an enjoyable read and one that needs to be a part of every public library collection. This coupled with the American Innovative Teach Me Time! Talking Alarm Clock and Nightlight has helped our family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very cute July 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My 4 year old son really liked this book! So did my 10 year old daughter. They both thought that counting until it's morning time was a Great idea! Neither of them like to go to bed and always want to be awake playing and around me and daddy. This book was very cute and gave us all a good idea to get the kids to go to sleep.

Given To Me For An Honest Review

This book "talks" about an age old problem we all have or have had with our children. Keeping them in bed at night. This little girl just cannot stay in bed. She keeps getting up with one reason or another. Her Daddy finally tells her a secret about staying in bed. She tries it and it works. She just can't wait for bedtime to come again. This is such a cut book for children. I highly recommend it to all who have children, plan to have children or care for children.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book July 31, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
My youngest son liked the book but thought mom was teasing him a bit since he is a lot like Shirley. The book hit a bit close to home for him since he likes to get out of bed with one excuse after another... it was nice that he could see himself in this story. I give the book 5 stars but he insisted on 4 stars since he was somewhat embarrassed... someday we both probably will laugh about this :)
After my son settled down for the night, I could hear him saying something...So I asked him what he was saying... He said he was counting.. I nearly burst out laughing but instead I said .. like Shirley?... which he responded by growling at me... later after he jumped up to check if it was morning... He was a bit discouraged... but decided he would continue counting. ... it is wonderful when reality and books connect like this!... I would give this book 10 stars if I could just for my son's reaction and connection to it.
