This book is a "Must Read" for anyone who plans to live long enough to retire and wants to enjoy it! The author does a wonderful job of clearly, simply, and often humorously helping you think about what you want to do when you finally stop working... and then helping you figure out how to make it actually happen.

Part "cold bucket of water" candid, part motivational, part down-to-earth practical, this book tells you what to expect and how to make it a fun reality. I am buying copies for all of my hard-working friends who "don't have time to think about retirement," as well as my children, who have the time to plan and save to assure a wonderful life... for their entire life.

Don't let the title discourage non-golfers from reading this book. I am not a golfer and while most of the book is on retirement, travel, and making the most of your life, even the golf stuff is fun and humorous.

Buy two copies and give one to a friend, colleague or child. You may help them start to plan for a rewarding and fun retirement too!

His:
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book. It is an easy read. It is organized so you can skip around to the topics that most interest you. So don't be put off by the title. There are many pearls of wisdom for those of you that aren't golfers or don't like to travel. The real point is how to approach and adjust to retirement.

Hers:
Dave's book is written from a male point of view, but there are many universal truths for women too. If you are a spouse of a retired or retiring man or a woman facing retirement, you need to read this book! I enjoyed the many useful travel tips and the diaries of Dave and Sue Ann's travels. They gave me ideas for my "bucket list".

Retirement sounds like simplicity itself, but Dave reveals the other side, which is "what replaces pre-retirement" and what is the impact on those around us who enjoyed their side of our pre-retirement routine for most of their adult years. Both great questions, and not commonly contemplated when all you are trying to do is finish the race with enough medals to quit racing!

I've been retired for ten years, successfully, due to a great relationship with wife and kids, and a financial security I am blessed to have achieved. Even so, I picked up some great tips to improve my retirement, and the after work impact on my bride. I would have benefitted greatly by reading Dave's insights pre retirement.

A great, quick read, with wonderful reference for those of us ready to travel, but with less than Dave's engineer research capability. Worth it just for the travel coverage, but a jewel for retirement contemplation and planning. The perfect gift for your pal retiring, or who needs to think about it.

This book is fun to read and helpful not just for golfers but also anyone who enjoys traveling. With that in mind, you don't even need to be close to retirement age to get a lot out of this book. I think it makes a great gift for any friend or relative who enjoys reading about golf or great vacation spots.
