The book is very well written, in plain-language and it is written in a building-block/how-to style - very easy to understand and follow.

Dr. Viehman is a Physician in his lab coat ,stethoscope around his neck with the results of a total examination in hand as he informs us of the diagnosis for the human race . He concludes we are not spiritually healthy , not just sick , not even terminal . We are already dead-- flat lined . We cannot get better on our own ; no matter our goodness or resources . His conclusion is we need a " resurrection " , a whole new life to be infused in us . The diagnosis and treatment come from a noted physician who had to recognize the paradox of misery brought on by success . Tom C. Womble M.Div. ; D.D

This is the account of a man searching for truth in a world filled with facades. True to form as a physician, Dr Viehman examines the concept of Christianity from top to bottom, finding that the logic is inescapable. Then with medical precision, Dr Viehman categorized and examined the changes to his life brought about by his new relationship with Jesus Christ. But how can you explain a spiritual reality in physical terms? There is only one explanation, one which defies medical logic: Greg became a "new man" in Jesus Christ.

As a pastor, I receive many books through various sources to read and review. Honestly, most of them warrant a chapter or two, and then they end up on my shelf. Greg's book was different in that it was honest, straight-forward, humorous, refreshing, and well-written. I was captivated by Greg's story, his experiences, the emotions he felt, and his honest assessment of his life. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Format: Paperback
Dr. Viehman has been on an amazing journey. In "The God Diagnosis," he combines a lucid writing style with his knowledge and skill as a physician to provide a very candid account of his search for eternity.

His writing is refreshing, informative, encouraging and honest. It is "fast-paced," thoughtful and thorough.

He provides a wealth of instruction based upon his own careful research and experiences. This book provides:

a. his own personal experiences in searching to fill the emptiness of his own
life (even though he seemingly "had it all"),
b. an excellent primer for Christian foundations,
c. an analysis of the problem of man including the cure,
d. an expose of the theory of evolution, and
e. a pathway to a new life which he himself has and is walking.

Anyone who is infected with the "disease of sin" should read this book.

This book is an outstanding read for anyone having doubts about the veracity of the Scriptures and the restoration of man to the life mankind was originally designed to enjoy.

Assoc. Pastor Calvary Chapel of Wilmington

Like someone who unknowingly has an undiagnosed condition such as Hypertension or Osteoporosis, they cannot "feel" the effects of these symptoms. One can easily go through life not knowing they "have a problem" and therefore they do not seek a cure because they do not know they need one until the condition is revealed through a diagnosis or secondary problem. This book shows us that we cannot be saved until we know we are lost. We unknowingly go through life with an undiagnosed case of sin and do not understand we need a cure. The God Diagnosis reveals the condition, provides the answer to the cure and shows us that we are lost and need to be found. The perfect cure for an otherwise un curable disease.

20 of 20 people found the following review helpful By Alan Benson on September 1, 2010
Format: Paperback
The God Diagnosis is an intriguing look at a personal journey to discover meaning in life. Dr. Viehman shares the story of how a life that had everything the American dream could offer - education, money, position, popularity, and a loving wife and family - left him profoundly empty and angry. With a great distaste for empty religion and its hypocritical proponents, he shares what would turn out to be his greatest medical discovery. The examinations were thorough, the tests complex, and the diagnosis unmistakable, he was dead. As you read these pages, you will not only find the concrete proof for his diagnosis, but you will also discover the cure. This book is a must read for everyone who truly wants to find meaning in life.

Dr. Viehman's book is an amazingly candid journey through his systematic and logical exploration of the foundations of Christianity in order to disprove and dismiss it. Through his research he encounters the life-giving breathe of God and finds what his heart has been crying out for- true living Love. This work is an incredible resource for those who are searching for abundant life.

Format: Paperback
The God Diagnosis by Dr. Viehman is a superb case for the validity of the Christian faith, the Bible and God. What I like about it is that he broke it down to it's core and exposed it piece by piece like a surgeon would attack a difficult surgery, and leaves you with no doubt that God is who He says He is! The true story of his discovery of God is inspirational and a great example of how God changes a life whether it be a beggar on the street or a Duke educated surgeon! If you are a Christian you will come away with your faith strengthened and inspired to tell others. If you are a skeptic you will come away with the proof that God is real, He loves you and He stands ready to fill that void in your heart that has been there all your life.
