Book Description

"Prepare for a wild and wooly ride. You will encounter not only the sea’s deadliest wave, but also adventure, suspense, murder, treasure, and romance. This is the type of story where you forget to breathe. Cussler, Grisham, Clancy, and Ludlum have attracted enormous readerships to the mystery/adventure genre. I’ve read most of their books—The Golden Catch compares favorably with any of them. .. Tie yourself down ‘cause you’re in for a heck of a ride.” –Jeff Tickson

“Well-written, and there is much in it of history, adventure, and suspense.” The Writer’s Edge reviewer

Overview:
An ex-CIA assassin who seeks redemption.
A beautiful archaeologist.
A treasure hoard on a remote Alaskan island.
A Korean billionaire who unleashes his ruthless killers to get what he wants.
Can a Bering Sea crab fisherman use survival skills from his past to save his friends and son?

“Provocative and intriguing” L. Fox

“The details of history, culture, and treasure are quite interesting, and make for a fascinating backdrop to this action-adventure.” --Livia Montana

“Exotic setting, fast pacing, coherent plot, and a strong protagonist.” P. Palmer

For anyone who can’t get enough of Ludlum, Cussler, or Morrell, “THE GOLDEN CATCH” is your next thrill ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Adventure Worth Experiencing May 23, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The master of assassin novels, Vince Flynn, now has serious competition. Roger Weston uses the opening paragraph, even the first sentence, to grab your attention and hold on to you till the end of the first chapter. Drawing you from the edge of your seat into the second chapter, Roger continues the exciting pace of the story, never slowing down, till he reaches the end. Frank Murdoch is the assassin with a conscience and a heart. He portrays the good and the bad in each of us, exposing our strength and weakness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indiana Jones eat your heart out! A darned good read. November 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Roger Weston's Frank Murdock must surely be a worthy rival to Indiana Jones. Golden treasure, an assassin and an archeologist, and the baddies on their tails. This novel reads like a mature-age boys-own adventure! It is very much a man's tale but even I could understand, appreciate and enjoy it.

Although it is very bloodthirsty, I didn't find it impossible to cope with and the hunt through the dense fog, when Frank's friends and son are being stalked was a refreshing change from the usual 'dash through the city" or the deserts which most thriller writers employ. In fact, this novel is the stuff of which movies are made :)

The writing is clear and easy to read, though the ending a little abrupt for my liking but that is purely a personal preference.

Hope we see more from this author; he deserves all the accolades which will undoubtedly come his way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic story; stands comparison with Hammond Innes January 18, 2012
By AiDee
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Sustains a high level of excitement throughout. High points are the globe-spanning story and the *exceptional* sea-based descriptions. One might expect good descriptions given the author's background. Less expected is the vivid writing of these scenes; it bears comparison with Hammond Innes. Spare, rapid-fire writing with very occasional lapses in spelling and sentence-construction - completely forgiveable at this price-point. Characters sketched out in varying levels of detail - generally plausible and engaging - and with believable dialog. The final chapter could have done with more work to flesh out the relationship interest, rather than leaving this implied. Nevertheless, a really fine piece of work overall and somewhat underpriced. Someone to watch.

The Golden catch is a great read and a instant class . The amount of detail paints the story perfectly and the emotion and unkown keeps you hooked.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sad April 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Is the Author in the sixth grade? The sentence structure is middle school at best with near phrases written rather then continuing sentences. Is there anyone out there that can script and delete all the guilt trips the leading character's seem to possess? This seem to be the trend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pitiful December 18, 2011
By Andrew
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the worst steaming pile of manure I think I have ever tried to read. It was almost impossible to follow the plot, what with the convoluted prose, misspellings, and incorrect word usage. The characters are stereotyped, their conversations are pointless, and their actions are completely illogical. The main character seems to spend most of his time being completely immobilized by guilt over some past event. I've seen better writing from sixth graders. This book was a total waste of 99 cents.
