I wish I had come across Paul's books when I FIRST launched my business. I find myself going back, tweaking, and redoing what I've already done because thanks to his tips and advice, I have a much clearer vision of my business.

Since I am a member of his newsletter list I was able to buy the digital version of this book before it was available to the general public. I read it in one sitting. Paul and his words have an amazing ability for making you feel confident, and as if you could achieve anything in your business. Then he provides you with all the tools and advice that help back up that amazing "I can run a successful" business high that you get when you read his stuff.

I have a business degree, taken many business courses, read more books than there is days in the year, all in regards to how to run a successful business and how to run it YOUR way. I wish I had come across his many books, courses and lessons a long time ago. He would've saved me a lot of dough.

Don't doubt this book, its very educational and has so much to offer you no matter how much "business stuff" you've already learned.

First let me say that Paul Jarvis is an awesome guy with a valuable perspective on the web design industry. He has over a decade of experience as a independent web designer and he frequently writes about his experiences on his blog (which is how I first found him).

The Good Creative’s best quality is its length. I’m not a fast reader and it took me about an hour and twenty minutes to finish. Each chapter is about 1.5 pages in length and reads more like a series of blog posts than chapters. The book outlines 18 thought-provoking habits and gives engaging examples of real-life success.

If you are a creative person of any trade looking to go further with your craft, read The Good Creative. It will challenge the way you think and (hopefully) help you recognize the blunders that are keeping you from getting to the next level.

Love The Good Creative. As others have said, it's a quick read, straight-forward. Although there's nothing here I didn't already know, Paul does a great job of packaging inspiration and insight and, after reading the whole thing in one sitting, I've found a chapter each morning as a great addition to starting my day. Good for focus and getting the mind in the right place.

I bought The Good Creative in early June, just after it was released. I have it as a Kindle book and also ordered the hard copy, just to get familiar with Create Space. Paul was so kind to email a link to the audio version as well.

I highly recommend if you need a creative jumpstart or just a bit of creative nourishment.

5 stars. Easily. This author jam packs brilliance into a small space that is easily understood, easily assimilated and fun to read through. Wisdom is felt, it only truly comes from life experience and this book is wise through and through. Rather than another book telling all to follow one way Paul Jarvis has a gift for helping me to maintain my voice, maintain MY authenticity and use practical proven steps that share the work. Easy peasy.

Been a fan of Paul Jarvis' work so naturally I'd have picked up this book. I only got around to reading this today and I'm giving it four stars because it's exactly the book you need if you don't want to wade through thick hardbound books of fluff to find the golden nuggets.

His work is always very lean. He's straight to the point and doesn't think in terms of number of words or number of pages. If he can say it in a haiku, he probably will.

The Good Creative, like his other books, is direct, casual, and interspersed with humor. While the insights don't necessarily knock the ball out of the park, he does it so well and so well-intentioned that you can't help but listen. The advice that really stood out for me are the ones about hugging critics, sharing the wealth and starting simple.

This book is for anyone who maybe have lost their way and needs a little push in the right direction. You'll never go wrong with Paul.

If you haven't read any of Paul Jarvis' other books, you definitely should. The Good Creative is a quick read, but mostly because Paul's writing is so conversational. I love all the illustrations throughout the book as they help anchor topics, but also add some visual interest to his words.

Highly recommend this book and subscribing to Paul's weekly dispatches on his website!

Paul Jarvis has written a concise guide for those looking to put out their best creative work on a consistent basis. Sharing 18 ways to making this happen, he's crafted a book that is easy to digest, features solid examples of creators that are "walking the walk," displays splashes of humour throughout, and can be read all in one sitting. Well worth the read!

What a great book! I was already a fan of his blog (get over to his site and read them, you won't be disappointed), and excited to get his book in the mail. It's an easy read, simple and profound, encouraging and enlightening.

I want to give this book away to all my creative friends when Christmas rolls around, what a beautiful cover!
