Book Description

March 14, 2011 Hidden Heroes
From one old woman's prayer a young girl was brought to faith, a missionary was sent to Africa and then a church was born from among the people of Central Africa. Missionaries from the West came with the message of Jesus Christ - but it was the men and women saved from cannibalism, the young boys who herded goats and who carted water who really brought the Good News even farther to more and more villages and homesteads in Africa . . . and the Good News must go out!

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

A friend said, "You write missionary books! Have you ever read 'They Called Me Mama'? It's a great book!"

"No," I answered, "Who's it about?"

"Hmmm. I can't remember."

"Ah," I thought. "How perfect for a series called 'Hidden Heroes.' "

My friend gave me "They Called Me Mama," the stories of Margaret Nicholl Laird and others from Baptist Mid Missions, and it kept me awake at night. The result is "The Good News Must Go Out," several stories from Margaret's book retooled for family read-alouds and discussion, to exalt the mighty works of God.

A quick, wonderful read January 16, 2012
Format:Paperback
(We were supplied with this book by the author)

I read this book wondering if it may be useful someday for reading to my children. This book reads as an exposition of Margaret Nicoll Laird's life, that showcases her dependence upon God in the midst of very trying circumstances.
I can easily say that this will most definitely need to be read to my future daughters. I say that because this book is written covering Margaret's life and was written from her perspective (I can easily see little girls joyfully entering into this book, whereas little boys attention may not be held.)

Here in this book, many will read of an imperfect woman who yielded to God and saw his hand at work mightily. It will be a fine example to set before them as they mature in childhood.
