The book is a nice size, and has cardboard type pages, which I really liked.

I gave this along with the Groom's book as a gag gift at a bridal shower.

This book is actually pretty great. We used it for a friend's bachelorette party as a game. We all rated her on her ability to be a "good wife" as we went along in the book. Hilarious! Great gift for any new bride.

This is a hilarious gag gift for a bride... Some of the advice is not only soooooo outdated but June Cleaver herself would have gasped! This book is a staple in my bachelorette gifts.

I bought this book and gave it to my then girlfriend. Once I allowed her to read it, she took the information to heart. Needless to say, we are now married and have a wonderful life together. She still sticks to all 19 of these rules and keeps a good, happy house and husband. She now wants me to allow her to read more books like this but I would rather her finish making me a sandwich before she tries reading again. Overall I think this is a great product and i feel like all women should be permitted to read this.

I thought this book was going to be a regular size book, but it was super tiny. Its arrival took very long.

I loved this little book - and have seen this "advice" in many retro books/magazines. What a shame everyone thinks it's such a "gag" - there have been and actually are wives that serve their husbands - but also - the husband serves them as well - old-fashioned roles - probably more religous couples - but respect and doing everything you can for your partner out of love...not just a one-way street! I think the point is - to think not only of yourself - but your mate - make fun of those that live by these types of traditional arrangements by choice (note - BY CHOICE) - but those that are truly happy - who is really having the last laugh - those happily married for 30, 40, 50+ years - while everyone else is divorced and dragging the kids through that? I do not assume that all divorces are avoidable - but hope others do not make the assumption that any wife that lives by these types of philosophies are oppressed, unfufilled, or unhappy - maybe some are that way - but believe me - just as many are deeply fulfilled by their lives and love. The sad thing is - the husband of a traditional couple like this says that men married to career women secretly come to him all the time and tell him they are jealous of him and the devotion of his wife. Not for power or control - but yearning for a traditional home/family...which current economics and politics are putting out of reach for most people - not to mention decades of feminist indocrtination for young women - who end up with lonely and sad lives - or husbands that tell other men they are jealous of them - except they will say their lives in their cubicles and nightclubs are perfect for them - well - more power to them, I guess.... Sad - these husbands have to say stuff like that to a co-worker - instead of talking directly with their partner....Read more ›

Actually had the real version of this in a magazine so I was so amazed they came out with this. It is a remake of a very old article I believe the 40's or early 50's. of how a women should take care of her husband. It's pretty amazing how far we as women have evolved, because I found this to be so short sided, all about pleasing your man, everything is about him, so with that being said, this is a great book for a wedding shower gag gift or girls night out funny read. Have showed it to several men and they love it! (I wonder why!)

This makes a good shower gift. If you've been around long enough, it is reminiscent of the books from the 80s that suggested wearing saran wrap to greet your husband in the evenings was a great way to keep your marriage alive. But it is funny, has a lot of truth, and my niece was amused to receive it among her gifts at the shower. My hope is that she returns to it in some quiet moment and gives the advice some real thought.
