Book Description

An epic Medieval romance written in the same old-world vein as 'Ivanhoe', this is a tremendously powerful story of Sir Bose de Moray and the Lady Summer du Bonne.

Bose was the Captain of the Guard for King Henry III until Bose's wife's untimely death in childbirth. Blaming himself and wanting to be free of the memories, he resigns his post and joins the tournament circuit to compete for money and fame.

But dark rumors follow Bose; his mother-in-law is a vicious woman who blames Bose for her daughter's death. She starts nasty rumors that Bose murdered his wife, and everyone on the tournament circuit is fearful of this dark, frightening knight.

Enter the Lady Summer du Bonne. A beautiful woman with a stammering problem, she has been kept hidden away from the world by her embarrassed father and protective brothers. Summer meets Bose at a tournament hosted by her brothers and for Bose, it is love at first sight. But the terrible rumors plague his attempts to get to know the lady, who is attracted to him as well. Summer's drunken father eventually pledges his daughter to Bose, but Bose's mother-in-law interferes and Summer's father decides to pledge Summer to an unscrupulous knight who has shown interest in her, and who would like nothing better than to see de Moray come to ruin.

With so many forces working against the, Bose and Summer elope but they are captured and Bose is brought up on charges of thievery. A massive trial ensues and with a death sentence hanging over his head, only a miracle can save Bose and restore his honor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bose is my Knight in Shining Armor!! August 13, 2012
By Cimbry
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is truly the best book of it's kind I have ever read. I have read it 3 times so far. I love the fact that there are no stupid misunderstandings between the Hero and Heroine that keep them apart. I have grown a little weary of that in other books. All the conflict for the couple comes from the outside. The supporting characters are very rich and full. There is both humor and drama and I am absolutely caught up in these people and this world. Bose is a great Hero, exactly what a Knight in a romance novel should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Medieval Romance - Sweet and Exciting!!! August 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a really good read, kept me hooked from the begining. I got this book free but I would pay for it, it was that good! Summer the lady in the book is beautiful but "flawed" and her hero is a battle hardened Knight. The book had great minor characters, it was well writen, and I really enjoyed it! I like to check out the free book download and there are many that aren't worth the time even free but this is not one of those book! If you like period pieces, good v/s evil, and a hero who is a Man's man then don't miss this one because you won't be disappointed!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Story March 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What a wonderful love story between Bose and Summer. Just yesterday, I left a not so favorable review on another book by this author but when the Gorgon was also available for free decided to give it another go. Could not put it down!!!!! They cared for each other from the very beginning...Bose is your typical knight - protective, loving, gentle, yet within a blink of an eye anyone who threatens his lady and the switch is flipped.

I love the secondary characters in this book...between her brothers to the wonderfully cute Anthony....

There is only one love scene between them so the story is very tame but believe me this is still all romantic goodness!!!

Great book!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars review of the gorgon January 14, 2013
By Roslynn
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was most intrigued by the title of this book "The Gorgon" why any self-respecting knight would pick a name to symbolize a group of hideous monsters seemed inappropriate. I at first was imagining the hero Sir Bose de Moray turning others to stone and realized how silly that thought was. As the story progressed I learned why Ms. Le Veque chose the title of gorgon was to signify a truly evil mother-in-law sarcastically. In going to her website I guess the title of the book was originally called the titan but I guess since no one really knows what titans look like she had to go with an easily imagined abominable creature instead.
Bose de Moray the hero who was previously the captain and friend of King Henry has been on the tournament circuit after a personal horrible tragedy afflicts him. Bose goes to a tournament held at Chaldon castle and meets the heroine Summer du Bonne falling instantly in love with her and her falling in love with him. Summer has been protected and shielded from others by her family not allowing her to meet anyone due to her "affliction" but she begins to live and open up with Bose. Many roadblocks face the couple not only must Bose fight for Summer but he has incomprehensible odds to face with not only Summer's brothers/family and other's that want to bring ruin to Bose's reputation. In the end Bose is able to turn and convince everyone with Summer's help of his reputability.
Ms. Le Veque really knows how to captivate readers with her story-telling and makes you care about the characters even the side characters. I especially liked Duncan Kerry and Olav; I would hope that Ms. Le Veque also writes about them too! Lady Summer du Bonne the heroine was such a strong character despite her speech impediment and I loved the fact that Ms.

5.0 out of 5 stars FAVORITE story by this author so far... March 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you love an epic story full of passion, love, action, honor, courage, humor, and villians; this is for you! You really get to to know and fall in love with not just the main characters but a whole arsenal of minor charcaters as well. Bose the hero is the perfect knight, but is guilt ridden over his wifes death in childbirth. And it doesn't help matters he has an evil deranged mother-in-law that abuses him verbally, emotionally, and physically. Bose is also constantly plagued by rumors (thanks to his mother-in-law) that he murderd his wife. The rumors never bothered him until he meets Summer. Summer is exactly like her name bright, beautiful, and with an open honesty thats refreshing. She has one small flaw...she stutters. Her family is very protective especially her wonderful older brothers. They don't want her hurt from the cruel world that would judge her harshly. I LOVED her older brothers. I wish they had their own books!! I couldn't decide which relationship I liked more; Bose and Summer's or her and her brothers. Bose even had his own "band of brothers" that look out for each other. This story is very rich in characters and character development. I was so attached to them I didn't want the story to end. I also have to say I like how this author makes her characters (male and female) emotionally open. They cry, laugh, and love openly and that is as wonderful in a book as it is in real life.

I enjoyed that Bose and Summer fell for eachother with out some big misunderstanding between them. I find a LOT of romance novels do that. And while I do enjoy it sometimes its refreshing to see it doesn't always have to be that way. They love eachother and will do anthing to be with one another.

Please don't listen to any extra harsh reviews. If you are a lover of medieval romances you have to check this one out! You won't be sorry! ;)
