Book Description

"Yes, Barack had worked tirelessly on behalf of the American people, especially those who elected him in 2008. His followers needed to re-elect him to a second term, so that he could continue to accomplish the promises he made, thus, realizing his vision of America as a more perfect political union or “heaven here on earth.”

Then, as I began to contemplate ways to assist Barack in his 2012 re-election bid something miraculous happened. I felt God’s (His) Spirit beckoning me in my dreams at night. Listening, cautiously, I learned that Jesus walked the earth to create a more civilized society, Martin (Luther King) walked the earth to create a more justified society, but, Apostle Barack, the name he was called in my dreams, would walk the earth to create a more equalized society, for the middle class and working poor. Apostle Barack, the next young leader with a new cause, had been taken to the mountaintop and allowed to see over the other side. He had the answers to unlock the kingdom of “heaven here on earth” for his followers. The answers were repeated - over and over - in speeches Barack had made from his presidential announcement to his inaugural address. Those speeches or his teachings contained the answers to the middle class and working poor people living in a “heaven here on earth.” For when the answers were unlocked and enacted, Apostle Barack’s vision of America would be realized.

About the Author

Barbara A. Thompson is a native of Tallahassee, Florida, with graduate degrees from Florida A&M University and Florida State University. She has been teaching for more than twenty-five years at the university level with experience in the areas of health, physical education and sport management. She is a professor at Florida A&M University, a former assistant vice president for academic affairs, past president of her university's chapter of United Faculty of Florida, a graduate of the National Education Association's Emerging Leader Academy and a two-time recipient of the Who's Who Among America's Teachers Award. The Gospel According to Apostle Barack: In Search of a More Perfect Political Union as Heaven Here on Earth, her first work of nonfiction was inspired solely for the desire and the goal of re-electing Barack Obama, Jr. to a second term as President of the United States. The words contained in this manuscript were extracted from one hundred and fifty-five (155) speeches Barack made between February 10, 2007 and January 20, 2009. It is the intent of the Author to offer this manuscript as a guide to the President's followers in their formulation of re-election focus groups based on the percepts espoused herein. Further, it is the intent of the Author to utilize the materials contained in the speeches as a means of teaching Apostle Barack's followers about him and guiding them towards understanding "politics as religion" and "religion as politics" The manuscript would also serve as a guide for his followers - to unlock the answers - to creating and living in the reality of a middle class lifestyle that was so economically and ethically sound that it appeared to be "heaven here on earth" Barbara, a newcomer to politics, enjoys writing in her leisure. She has been married to her husband, Willie for over thirty years. The Thompsons have one adult son, Gibran.

1.0 out of 5 stars Barbara: Put down the Cool-Aid! November 9, 2012
Format:Paperback
I would have given this a Zero Star but that is not an option. Rather than waste money on this book, and fuel the author's next "dream," reflect on this wisdom from over 2,000 years ago:

"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and gave him triumphal processions. Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the 'new, wonderful, good society' which shall now be Rome's, interpreted to mean: more money, more ease, more security, more living fatly at the expense of the industrious." -- Marcus Tullius Cicero

1.0 out of 5 stars Utter nonsense November 9, 2012
By Papi
Format:Paperback
Poorly wriiten to make a fast buck, it could best be described as the rantings of a lunatic. The thought process is bizarre at best. You'd be better off reading the back of a cereal box.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont' waste ur money. B..S. book November 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
The Gospel according to Apostle Barack tries to compare Barack Obama to Jesus. It claims he can be compared to Christ because he is fighting for the plight of the middle class. Please! This piece of crappy writing redefines 'Blasphemy'. For anyone to compare a supporter of abortion and gay marriage to Christ is...well...INSANE! Don't waste your hard-earned money

From the book:

"I learned that Jesus walked the earth to create a more civilized society, Martin (Luther King) walked the earth to create a more justified society, but, Apostle Barack, the name he was called in my dreams, would walk the earth to create a more equalized society, for the middle class and working poor. Apostle Barack, the next young leader with a new cause, had been taken to the mountaintop and allowed to see over the other side."

Aha! That explains unemployment around 15%, the national debt well over $16 trillion and streaking upward, unfunded liabilities over $121 trillion, a recession imminent, a newly aggressive Iran on the verge of acquiring nuclear weapons, Al Qaeda on the rise, and an infantile electorate utterly unwilling to elect adults who will address these or any other serious issues.

Of course.

Um Barb dear? Jesus walked the earth to teach us to follow GOD and He came here to suffer and die for our sins so there would be a path for us to Heaven, NOT to 'create a more civilized society'. obama is truly an abomination and his name shouldn't be uttered in the same paragraph as MLK and Jesus Christ. That is blasphemy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Go back and read your Bible! November 9, 2012
Format:Paperback
Matthew 7:15, Jesus said.
"Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves."

I appreciate that the author is a fan of Obama's, but this is going above and beyond simple admiration and moving into very dangerous territory, one that as a Christian she should know better than to venture! It's not too late, repent and ask God to forgive you your false idol worship. Obama is a mere man, one that is vastly far removed from anything we as Christians should support and defend. Get off the government plantation and break free the chains that bind you to the welfare state.

I suggest you do some serious praying on 2 Peter 3:17 as well.
"I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing."

It is dangerous and foolish to put so much faith in one man, for as humans we are sinners and far from perfect. Only one man on Earth was perfect and he is in heaven. I urge the author to reconnect with her spiritual faith in God and Jesus and reject this false worship before it's too late.

1.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't give negative stars November 9, 2012
By Joseph
Format:Paperback
I know Jesus, Jesus is a savior of mine. You sir (Obama), are no Jesus, or an apostle of Jesus. Jesus, nor any apostle, would advocate the killing of an abortion that survived (nor would he advocate abortion). Nor would he advocate taking from those that have to give to those that don't have due to poor choices. Not that we shouldn't have compassion on the less fortunate, but it is not government's role to force us into charitable giving. Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.
The author says that Obama and healthcare are going to create a better economy for the working poor and the middle class. Just take a look at all the companies that just announced lay offs specifically due to Obamacare and you can see that big changes are coming, just not the ones that will help our economy. Pray, folks, pray..

1.0 out of 5 stars Gag..... November 10, 2012
Format:Paperback
"Gag" is enough, is it not?! Thus the pollution of the selfish mind continues with drivel released on a monthly basis in the form of journalism and literature. When life turns on the heat, the stew in the bottom of the pan chars and is good for nothing but the trash receptacle. This farce is the scum on the bottom of the pot when too much heat was used. Had to have 20 words to go with "gag" and got carried away.
