I gave this as a gift. To be fair, it was well received, however it was too small for me to give alone and I ended up having to buy something in addition to this.
The overall size is approximately the same as 2 CD cases stacked. Each individual sample is about the size of 4 quarters stacked. It's a great variety of salts. But you should understand the amount your getting (or not getting) before you buy...

The samples are quite small I admit, but I'd read the reviews before ordering. The person who described each sample as being approximately the size of 4-5 stacked quarters was about right. But if you've done any looking around at other finishing salts, you shouldn't be surprised or feel ripped off by this. $20 (including the shipping) is a pretty low price for this many salts no matter how you look at it.

However, these salts are an excellent little collection for really comparing them and figuring out which you'd like to buy more of. Many are incredibly good tasting (although the smoked one dominates the smell unfortunately) and the variety of textures is fantastic.

Depending on how you use these (I recommend just using as finishing salts on to accent a dish such as meat, veggies, etc) each one will last a couple of meals.

My personal favorites so far are the onion salt (better than any onion salt I've bought at the grocery store), the applewood smoked salt (just plain good flavor...I really want to make a mushroom rissoto for this for some reason), the lovely large crystal salt from brasil (it's crunch is fantastic! I could love this one on anything) and of course the black Cyprus salt that is just plain a texture adventure. There are a few I'm not as fond of (mostly the pinkish ones) though I think that's personal preference...but that's why you should get a sampler first! I'm sure glad I did. These might be small, but it's such a great way to try and compare. I absolutely recommend this.

just received this product today. it is, as other reveiwers have noted, small samples, but is a really nice collection as well.each container is not much bigger than a quarter, and maybe a half an inch thick. they are, however, a nice collection of salts to sample and enjoy. ordered on the first of april, received april 6th. nice presentation, i think this would make a nice gift.
Also, the names of the different salts are actually printed on the bottom of the containers, which I didn't realize until my cats flipped them off the counter (the lids are not very tight, so some of the salts spilled...you might want to keep them away from crazy pets).
Loved the smoked salt, and the larger, crunchier salts as well.

As someone who has been actively involved in improving my health over the past few years, my research has shown the positive effects of sea and other high quality salts in a healthy diet (Suzanne Somers, health experts and Doctors have written about the benefits in many of their books). I have tried many products and most are very good however I find the salts from "Salts of the 7 Seas" to be the best I have ever tried!! The quality is evident in each of the different flavors. Who knew I needed 6 different salts in my pantry? Growing up with regular table salt, a gourmet salt never crossed my mind. Once I tried these products, I found different uses for them on almost a daily basis with incredible results. I will continue to buy these fantastic salts for many years to come. Thank you, for such an excellent product.

I love this sample pack of salts. I couldn't decide which ones I wanted so this was the perfect solution. The smoked salt is amazing as well as the garlic. Mmmmm... I enjoyed them all! The hawiian red salt was awesome for kaluha pig in the slow cooker. Rubbed a pork roast in the red salt, added a splash of liquid smoke, cooked all day. Delicious.

I bought the sampler as a gift for my Mom. She loves it. The dinner she cooked with it had great flavor. I am going to buy more for Christmas gifts.

Loved all of these great salts- my favs were Red Wine, Sel de Sauvignon, roasted garlic and the toasted onion- just amazing flavor! The Cyprus Onyx- black salt was great too- really cool looking on almost everything. Loved the Smoked Applewood- perfect for grilled meats, roasted meats,soups and stews. Buying one for all the cooks in my life!

The salt was mailed in a bubble mailer, so the case was cracked and full of loose salt. The salts are tiny, but that's fine because salt isn't something you need a ton of and it IS a sampler. Each container is the size of an eyeshadow.

Also, the card that came with it said it included a lime flavour, but it didn't - the lime is missing from their website, so I assume they were out and substituted something else in it's place. That's fine, the sale I got is great!

My husband, the salt connoisseur, loves the Applewood Smoked. I like the onion and found the garlic smelled more garlicky than it tasted. I'm sure we'll make good use of all of them, if my husband doesn't snack on them all 'till they're gone!

I bought this as a gift to go along with a salt grinder, did'nt look quite as good as in the picture but over-all a decent product

This salt sampler was purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. He loves to cook & I thought this would be an unusual item. I like the package but was hoping that the containers were a little bigger so we have more product to test to see which ones we like best.
