Book Description

A gratitude journal can transform your life!
During a season of transition in my life, I found myself overwhelmed with negative emotions like self-pity and a complaining spirit. It was as if a dark cloud had descended over me. I prayed and asked God for wisdom on how to overcome these negative emotions. And I sensed Him leading me to do a 21 day gratitude challenge.

Over the course of the 21 days, God began to change me as I spent intentional time being grateful for all I have been given. I did this through writing in my journal each day and also sending a hand-written thank you note to someone different each day.

And now I want to share what I learned with you.

What to Expect On Each Day of the Challenge:

- Read my personal stories, struggles and reflections.

- Read one scripture and one quote about gratitude.

- Apply one personal application step.

- Get accountability and encouragement

Along with the 21 day challenge, I also started a private Facebook group to provide accountability and encouragement not only for myself but also for others who join me in this challenge. You will get access to this group as well when you buy the book. It has been amazing to see God at work in each of our lives.

Read Comments from Those Who Have Taken the 21 Day Gratitude Challenge:

"The gratitude challenge has been life changing for me. Doing this daily has drawn me closer to the Lord because I am communicating with him more about real heart and thought issues in 'real time.' I am so thankful that the Lord prompted Shelley to share this challenge with all of us! Above all, I praise Jesus for his grace in providing us all a way to be mindful of the thoughts and attitudes of our hearts, and to experience the difference that gratitude makes in our lives." Renee Snyder

"This challenge has brought me back to God in such a way I cannot explain with words!" Rob Stephens

"The gratitude challenge has helped me find a happiness in life I haven't had in a while. I think everyone should do this challenge if they haven't yet. You will be blessed." David Rickey

"This challenge has been quite an inspiration. Keep up the great work. It's contagious! Wow!" Laurie MacPherson

"This challenge has really changed my focus from the negative things in life to focus on the good. I believe a thankful heart is a happy heart. Proverbs 17:22 says, 'A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.'" Antonia Faisant

4.0 out of 5 stars Getting Into the Attitude of Gratitude in Real Life June 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
"Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts." ~ Alan Cohen

When Shelley Hitz made the decision to spend 21 days being grateful she did not know the outcome of her experiment. Each day she descibes what she is going through and includes Bible verses and quotes as well as thoughts to ponder.

Throughout this journey she stuggled with accepting her new situation even though her decisions brought her to the place she is in her life. By reading her book you join with her on a journey that includes sending letters of gratitude, singing worship songs and even making a gratitude board.

The ideas are good and simple enough to copy. Writing your own journal is recommended.

You can also read the entire book at once and gain an even greater blessing.

5.0 out of 5 stars I get charged up after reading this book. June 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I picked up this book due to its title. What is this 21 days of gratitude challenge? This title inspired me to take up challenges head on. I was facing with some obstacles and challenges to me and my family with thoughts of giving up. With that, I decided to go to the internet to search for possible solutions until I stumbled this book. I bought it and started reading, Gosh, I was amazed how the author structured the whole book into 21 days of actions. I particularly like day 14, day 17 and day 20... This book really charged me up.. Good job. Keep up the good work.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am excited about this book June 12, 2012

I just picked up this book and I am so excited! It's a fantastic book that came into my life at exactly the right time. I am joining Shelley on this 21 day challenge. It's so easy to get wrapped up in every day life and "stuff" that happens and I needed this book to remind me of all the things I am grateful for.

I love the way this book walks you through the process of doing this challenge. It's one thing to say, "I should write in a gratitude journal every day" but the problem is, I hardly ever do it!

This is a wonderful book and I am excited to start this challenge with Shelley.

5.0 out of 5 stars Change the way you view life! June 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What do a journal, envelopes and rocks have in common? They are all tools that will help you nurture an attitude of gratitude and "The 21 Days of Gratitude Challenge" shows you how. This is such an amazing example of 1 Thessalonians 5:18, that I am truly grateful for it. In a workaholic world, we often need a physical reminder to be thankful for what we have been given. And that's what this book is. It's an inspiring message that literally walks you down the path of living a life of gratitude. If you're ready to change the way you're looking at life, then this is definitely the book for you!

"give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

5.0 out of 5 stars Change Your Focus Change Your Life June 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The minute I saw this book, I knew I had to read it. I had been drowning in self-pity and focused on everything that was going wrong that I didn't realize how much more was going right. Like the saying goes, what you focus on will grow. Well I am changing my focus and starting with gratitude. In 21 days, one habit will be broken and a new on started.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Lovely Book That Will Benefit Many June 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Shelley Hitz was feeling downcast and discontented. She decided to start a "21 Days of Gratitude" program. Essentially this involved "forcing" herself to be grateful each day in three areas - spiritual, physical and relational - to keep a journal and to send a hand-written thank you card to a different person each day.

This book is her journal, and I was touched by Shelleys' honesty at what was sometimes a struggle. But towards the end she made a wonderful discovery: "If you take the step of faith and start thanking God in your situation - even when you don't feel thankful - it can change you and your entire day."

This is a lovely book that will benefit many.
