I followed the directions to a T. The pressure was good, temp was good, no leaks, etc... Refrigerated it after about 5 days. After the 7-8 day period the beer was totally flat. Pumped in C02 a few times. Although it added some bubbles, it was still very flat and undrinkable. I dumped the batch and tried again thinking maybe the 2nd would be better. A week later, the same thing... undrinkable flat beer; no matter how much C02 i pumped into it. GROSS! If you like "Beer Water" this is for you. Otherwise, please take my advice and don't waste your money. This morning my Beer Machine was put outside for garbage pick up. $100 bucks down the drain!

I have never been so disappointed in a product in my entire life. I purchased this product as a gift for my boyfriend and after spending 3 hours putting in together and checking for leaks, we realized that the pressure release valve on the top was broken. After obtaining an additional release valve, we added the mix and waited. After 5 days the floatation device that is attached to the spout was floating on the top. We sacrificed the mix, emptied the machine and re-attached the bobber. As if things were frustrating enough, when we put the machine back together it would not seal around the edges, causing both water and air to leak. After spending an additional 4 hours trying to find and fix the leaks, we decided that the best method would be to seal it shut with epoxy. We ensured that all the internal apparatuses were properly attached and sealing the machine shut. After waiting for the glue to dry overnight, we filled the machine with water and performed the pressure test in the manual. To our dismay, the machine was still leaking, but not from any of the parts we attached. The machine was leaking from where the pressure gage is attached to the plastic keg. As we are emptying the machine out to add some extra glue to the leak, the spout of the machine breaks off. As if all the frustration was not enough, I paid over $100 for a product that not only was I never able to use, but was probably the most poorly made product I have ever purchased. I went with "The Beer Machine" over other home-brew kits because I felt the additional money I was spending was worth the perks of having gages for the pressure and temperature. Instead, the only thing I got was frustration and disappointment.

Followed instructions and the system pressurized as it should. The final product was not beer. It was the worst tasting drink I have ever had. Would not buy this item, just go to a bar.

I purchsed the Model 2000 because of the improvements made over the earlier model. On the 2000 model Great American Micro Brewery has added a pressure gauge and a temperature gauge. These items take the quess work out of brewing by providing essential information during the fermentation period. In addition the unit has improved clamps for a necessary air tight seal. My first batch was not successful becaue of leaking around the main seal. This problem was solved in batch #2 by being attentive to any pressure leaks before proceeding. Two suggestions, first do not shake the beer machine strongly when sterilizing the unit as the delivery tube and float may come unattached. Second, when adding CO2 for carbonation, twist the cap all the way down. Do not stop when CO2 begins to escape through the side of the cap or you will lose all of the CO2 into the atmosphere. This is a good product with good results when one is attentive to each detail.
