Closing Thoughts: The Great Dictator is one of Chaplin's best films and one of the most important ones.
Chaplin plays Adenoid Hynkel, Dictator of Tomania; this is a very thinly disguised portrait of Germany's dictator Adolf Hitler.
Say what you like about this film: it's too preachy, it's not focused, it's this, it's that, say whatever you like.
