The Greatest Pregnancy Ever is a treasure. It should be the very first thing a pregnant woman reads in fact, every woman who intends to have a baby will be thrilled with the empowering message here. ~Christiane Northrup, M.D., ob/gyn physician and author of the New York Times bestsellers: Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom and The Wisdom of Menopause. --Christiane Northrup, MD

What today's families need is the opportunity to connect within, which results in deeper intimacy. This quote from Laurel and Tracy's new book, The Greatest Pregnancy Ever: New keys to the Mother-Baby Bond sums up what family therapy researchers have known for decades: Family processes that promote connection over disconnection are key to healthy growth and development of children and parents alike, throughout the family life cycle. The portal to accessing the inner knowledge present in every pregnant woman is focusing through the heart-to-heart connection with her baby. This book helps to bring alive awareness as a woman works with nature to bring forth life. The Greatest Pregnancy Ever presents a foundation for motherhood. -Gayle Peterson, LCSW, PhD Author, An Easier Childbirth, Birthing Normally and Making Healthy Families . --Gayle Peterson

Finally there is a pregnancy book that focuses of the very important MotherBaby bond that exists before and after the pregnancy! The Greatest Pregnancy Ever: Keys to the MotherBaby Bond by Laurel Wilson & Tracy Peters meets the need of parents by providing in their book what is needed to understand about the motherbaby bond and how it forms the dynamic of the family. At no other time in their child s life do parents influence who that child will be, both emotionally and physically, than during pregnancy and the first years of a child s life. Cutting-edge research is discovering that the experience in the womb and the early moments of birth and early infancy are the most formative moments our lives. Wilson & Peters blend today's recent scientific findings with mind/body/spirit wisdom. Their exciting new book offers insights and tips on making pregnant women comfortable during pregnancy, addressing their fears and anxieties, tips on managing stress in their lives, and creating a way of life that will transform the women and their babies. Each section of the book gives a concise explanation of the best way to navigate the content outlined in each chapter and explains how the reader can best use the content. The keys that the title refers to relate to the concept of being able to B.O.N.D. This bonding connection is imperative to baby, mother, and her partner for the overall health and wellness of their family. The format of the book is innovative and is organized in the following segments: B.O.N.D. - Keys to Bonding B-Be-ing, Conception, The Beginnings O-Observing, The First Trimester N-Nourishing, The Second Trimester D-Deciding, the Third Trimester I wholeheartedly believe childbirth educators, nurses, midwives and doulas will benefit by sharing the knowledge in The Greatest Pregnancy Ever: Keys to the MotherBaby Bond with all of their patients and clients. I got this at the suggestion of a Doula. The first 7 chapters were useless to me. I found myself feeling a little patronized. I found the content to be basic. Maybe it targets moms who are feeling unsupported, isolated, prone to anxiety or didn't plan for pregnancy? I am surrounded by supportive people and in a stable place. This book reads like a self-help book for late adolescence. Lots of talk of positive mental attitude, self-care, eliminating unhealthy relationships, developing self-awareness, and not being unduly influenced by family history or other people's expectations. There are better books out there.

As a perinatal relationship specialist, I highly recommend this book. It's not just about having the greatest pregnancy ever, but about creating the bonds between mother, father/partner (the book is inclusive of gay and lesbian couples as well) and baby that provide a strong structure for a new family.

The Greatest Pregnancy ever supports a woman to connect with her newly emerging mother-self, to expand her awareness of what motherhood entails, to seek out information to prepare for her new life, the importance of stress reduction for her and her baby, and bonding for the whole family. I particularly love that there is a whole chapter devoted to the parent's relationship as information on this is sorely needed to prepare a couple and yet sadly missing from most pregnancy resources.

This book provides information, not just for the best pregnancy ever, but for the best start to a family ever, in many different ways.

The Greatest Pregnancy Ever is a very important book which teaches parents awareness of the intelligence of babies in the womb. Our babies hear, feel, and sense what is happening in the womb and outside the womb. Studies have shown that when a mother bonds with her baby in the womb outcomes are better birthing experiences and less pregnancy complications. Prenatal and Perinatal psychology has been studying this concept for 30 years and it is now supported by neuroscience and ultrasound. An excellent book for preconception through pregnancy. This should be in any pregnant mother's hand and even before conception.

This is so different from most pregnancy books. This isn't going to tell your when your baby is developing fingernails or how much they weigh this week, however it will talk you through the emotional rollercoasters of pregnancy and your life changing and your relationships changing. I had an unplanned pregnancy and found myself in a pretty low place my first trimester, however through reading this book my whole attitude changed and I found myself truely loving my unborn child. This book also has some great self improvement exercises that were helpful.

This book is the book I needed when I was pregnant. It is clear and concise and answers many questions not touched on in books on pregnancy. Questions for the expectant mother to ask herself and others in her birth arena are suggested within these pages. I like how it is separated into sections for easy reference. Anyone working with mothers will find new and innovative ideas within these pages. Every new mother and family should have this book on the bedside table.

I like that this book is not the typical what to expect pregnancy symptoms book along with shopping lists, but that it instead focuses on the mother baby bond and ways to strengthen it. The many relaxation techniques are helpful. It has you thinking of whats best for you and your baby without going overboard with accusing you of making bad choices if the all natural route isnt for you.

I really enjoyed reading this book, which isn't your classic pregnancy book - in a good way! I recommend reading it early in pregnancy, although it does have sections for each trimester. The focus of this book is on ways to enjoy your pregnancy, bond with your baby and prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for parenthood.
