Have you ever experienced a powerful touch from God at a conference only to return home to struggle with how to articulate that encounter to your friends and family?
After spending 4 years at Bethel Church in Redding, CA, I moved on to finish college where I noticed that my theology and core values had changed deeply. I often struggled to explain why my convictions were different than those I attended church with. Beyond believing in signs, wonders, and miracles, my sense of who God is and how He interacts with us, who I am to Him and to the world, and what my role as a believer is has drastically changed. Steve gave me language to articulate three distinct theological shifts that accompany the current Charismatic revival movement that has swept the world.
This book is a must read for anyone struggling to share what they've experienced in revival culture, or for those who have experienced it but have never had any biblical teaching to support it. It would also work well as a study book or as part of a school curriculum. Steve's heart is evident throughout, as he seeks to serve and father a generation of people hungry for the things and ways of God.
Of the many topics explored and tackled in this book, I enjoyed the "garden weeding" Steve tackles regarding the sovereignty of God. Well done Steve and thank you! ORDER THIS BOOK, and then go back to buy it for your friends!
I was in various Christ centered ministries for two decades and I had heard about 'kingdom' theology over the years. However I never found anyone who could explain it in way I could really 'catch' anyway, so I wondered if it was not some wierd 'off shoot' thing.
Steve Shaw explained what Jesus was saying over and over about the 'gospel of the Kingdom' in a clear and precise way that now I want to go and climb the green ladder and bring as many other believers with me as I can. The Green Ladder is the life we know deep inside Jesus wants us to live. I will be sending this book to many nations and many Pastors I know. I would even like to see Green Ladder Fellowships start poping up around the world!
