About the Author

Steve Shaw lives in a small town in Oregon where he is still pastoring his first church after 34 years. He has an incredible passion for the presence of God, authentic Christian community, and seeing the Kingdom of God advance in the earth through the empowered church as it did in the Book of Acts. He also has a heart for the unsung heroes of the small churches in small towns and wants to assist them to see their churches move from survival to significance. Steve and his wife Midge have been married for 40 years and have raised two incredible sons.

Steve Shaw's book is such an incredible exploration of our current revival movement.

Have you ever experienced a powerful touch from God at a conference only to return home to struggle with how to articulate that encounter to your friends and family?

After spending 4 years at Bethel Church in Redding, CA, I moved on to finish college where I noticed that my theology and core values had changed deeply. I often struggled to explain why my convictions were different than those I attended church with. Beyond believing in signs, wonders, and miracles, my sense of who God is and how He interacts with us, who I am to Him and to the world, and what my role as a believer is has drastically changed. Steve gave me language to articulate three distinct theological shifts that accompany the current Charismatic revival movement that has swept the world.

This book is a must read for anyone struggling to share what they've experienced in revival culture, or for those who have experienced it but have never had any biblical teaching to support it. It would also work well as a study book or as part of a school curriculum. Steve's heart is evident throughout, as he seeks to serve and father a generation of people hungry for the things and ways of God.

I just finished reading "The Green Ladder." I have the joy of leading a church in the same region of Oregon as Steve Shaw. Part of my joy is being near such a wise and faithful leader who is able to express Kingdom concepts so clearly. His passion touches all the churches in our area. The Green Ladder unfolds a paradigm shift that God is asking many of us to step into so that we can truly reflect a church of power in our culture. Read this excellent work and let God tinker with your ideas as He did with mine.

The Green Ladder affirmed for me many thoughts I have regarding the Kingdom of God. It was an inspirational experience to see similar thoughts being expressed by Pastor Steve Shaw. The Green Ladder moves us beyond the gospel of salvation into the full Gospel of Jesus Christ. This book will cause you to think, and then rethink how you view the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a great book for young pastors. For young pastors this book alongside of the Bible will give each opportunity to grow into the dynamic power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. I encourage pastors to read this book and share with church leaders and servants. Sharing the Green Ladder with key church leaders will make a differance as application of the principles are applied to the vision of each church!

I have been walking with the Lord nearly 4 decades, and yet, I find the more I learn, the less I fully grasp the depth and vastness of God's glorious riches and great Love towards us. I recently read "The Green Ladder" and am excited about the Spiritual treasures that are revealed throughout. This book is compelling to read, easy to understand, and has many profound, insightful "ah ha" moments. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a greater understanding of the will of God......on a global level as well as personally.

Format: Paperback
The Green Ladder is a dead-on, clear, scriptural based, invitation. The Green Ladder invites the reader towards the Kingdom lifestyle (in my opinion, a lifestyle needing to permeate the thinking of millions of Christians worldwide). This book puts clear language and "handles" around, topics for many, which are tough & deep concepts. Rather than waste pages on rhetoric and theological meandering, the Green Ladder takes us into a personal story of change, re-learning, fresh perspective, church rebirth, and finally clear application for the leader. I sincerely believe this book is a book to share with many. Why? Simply because it can offer people a sense of freedom and understanding that can allow deep relationship and mind-renewal needed for a "get-to, full life" of co-laboring with Jesus and the Father... through the Holy Spirit. Modern day evangelism for the sake of salvation alone is simply the beginning and as Steve Shaw so clearly states, "a doorway" into the true gospel. The gospel of the Kingdom. Why should we stand in the doorway?

Of the many topics explored and tackled in this book, I enjoyed the "garden weeding" Steve tackles regarding the sovereignty of God. Well done Steve and thank you! ORDER THIS BOOK, and then go back to buy it for your friends!

Marty M.

The Green Ladder is for anyone who wants to know how to live the life of the 'real thing'; The life those who love Jesus really want to live.

I was in various Christ centered ministries for two decades and I had heard about 'kingdom' theology over the years. However I never found anyone who could explain it in way I could really 'catch' anyway, so I wondered if it was not some wierd 'off shoot' thing.

Steve Shaw explained what Jesus was saying over and over about the 'gospel of the Kingdom' in a clear and precise way that now I want to go and climb the green ladder and bring as many other believers with me as I can. The Green Ladder is the life we know deep inside Jesus wants us to live. I will be sending this book to many nations and many Pastors I know. I would even like to see Green Ladder Fellowships start poping up around the world!
