I thoroughly enjoyed The Green Line. I didn't want to put it down and was annoyed that I had to to go out to dinner.
I am an attorney and most books dealing with the law don't hold my interest because they are often unrealistic and/or legally flawed. It was a nice bonus that The Green Line was right on with respect to both a little known area of the law and the politics of law firm practice.
With the law as the setting, the story line drives the reader down a freeway laden with obstacles, road rage and closed exits. If you are looking for a fast moving, smart, gripping read, put your thinking cap on and get ready to find yourself sitting on the edge of your seat.
I can't wait for the sequel.

I just finished The Green Line. It was a great book. I couldn't put it down. From the very first page I was drawn into the story. I could feel Abby's fear when she got off the train and I thought about how terrified I would have been in that situation. The characters were well developed and the story very believable. I would certainly recommend this book.

The Green Line is a fast paced, engaging and smart legal thriller. E.C. Diskin gives the legal issues woven through the story their proper due while at the same time writing an exciting and suspenseful story. Kept me up past midnight last night so I could finish it. As an attorney, wife and mother of two, a book has to be pretty great to keep me up past my bedtime.

Loved this book. It was hard to put down. It's well written, easy to read, grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go till the last. The story is very believable, a fact that makes it all the more intriguing. Ms Diskin presents social issues without being on a soapbox, a touch of love story without getting soppy, a bit of Chicago history without sounding "professor-ish", just enough subplots to keep you guessing but not confused, and a fast passed plot which keeps you turning the pages. Can't wait for her next book.

Fast-paced, gripping, page-turner. As a Chicago lawyer who rides the green line every day, this book started out a bit scary for my taste, but I was sucked in to the story, and couldn't put it down. Well done E.C. Diskin!

Interesting premise but too predictable. Every time a climatic scene was coming up I didn't want to keep reading because the foreshadowing was overdone and I already knew what was going to happen. Editing errors were frequent enough to be distracting.

Best lawyer book since John Grisham's beginning novels. Rough without being crude. Character development made you feel like you were joining them for a beer or drug bust. Having lived in a Chicago burb, I could totally picture her locations.

It was okay. A lot happened but I wouldn't call it fast-paced just because of that. Every single little detail and movement and hesitation on the part of the characters was in the text. I don't usually skim a book but I started doing so about a third of the way through. The book could have been half the length and kept my interest better. A lot of the plot was, um, implausible to say the least and yet entirely predictable (foreshadowed heavily) and the ending was unsatisfying. Sorry, I wouldn't recommend it. I think the author has potential but needs to work on style. Short sentences are not a style!
