About the Author

Always into sports and very active growing up, Jennifer never gave much thought to diet and exercise. Weight gain was not much of an issue.

Then, after marriage and the birth of her twin boys, Jennifer noticed she had problems keeping her weight under control. After numerous years of frustration, trying to get rid of stubborn pounds and not feeling as well as she wanted, Jennifer began her own personal research into diet and exercise. As a result, she ended up going back to school to get a degree in nutritional science.

Now she enjoys living a healthy lifestyle, spending time outdoors, teaching classes on nutrition at her local high school, and sharing healthy tips and information with family and friends.

And just in case you are curious, Jennifer is now back down to her weight before she had her four children.

I am already a huge fan of green smoothie drinks and have been enjoying their health benefits for quite a long time now. This book attracted me for several reasons. First, I just love the cover picture; it represents the vitality and health promised by drinking green smoothies. Second, I tend to read whatever comes along on this topic, just in case there is something I don't know and should know. I wish I had had this book when I first got started making my green drinks. It would have answered a lot of the fundamental questions I had and would have put me on that healthy path even more quickly. This is a great book, and I read it cover to cover. The author provides a basic formula for making the drinks and discusses variety of vegetables and fruits and superfoods that are appropriate for use. She gives tips on cleaning and preparing the ingredients and then putting them together for the actual blending. After all that, she includes a plentiful supply of recipes. At the end she has a clickable index of recipe ingredients. I really commend her for informing the reader of the importance of using a variety of ingredients, especially the greens, and not just including the same ones everytime. This is a very important point that is often missing in some of the other books on this topic. I heartily recommend getting this book--especially if you are just getting started.

Prior to going out and buying a smoothie machine and all of the ingredients, I wanted know the basic theory behind Green Smoothies. I also didn't want to read a 300 page dissertation on the benefits of each aspect of the topic. This book really provides you with everything you need to know to start making your own green smoothies right away. I read it in one morning and was making my own smoothies by the afternoon.

As I mentioned in the title, I've tried juicing many times to get the benefits of vegetables, but no matter what I made, I just didn't like the taste. When I saw this book, I just to pick it up out of curiosity. I'm so glad I did.

What a difference between green juicing and green smoothies. It's like night and day. I love Smoothies, but never thought of making them green. The author starts right at the basics and brings you through the entire process. She starts right out with listing differences between juicing and smoothies and had me hooked right off.

The recipes look fabulous and I had a hard time deciding which one to make first. Since I love Green Goddess salad dressing, I tried this one and it was fabulous. I'll be shopping this week with a list of ingredients in hand to make some more of these healthy drinks.

Although most people love fruit smoothies, the fact of the matter is that green smoothies (meaning smoothies made with vegetables) are even more nutritious. To name just a few of the benefits, dark, leafy greens can improve your immune system, improve kidney and liver function and aid your digestive system. If this is the case then, why don't more people prepare and drink green smoothies? The reason is obvious. If you don't do it correctly, green smoothies can taste TERRIBLE. This is where this book comes in.
The author has written many smoothie books and is a real expert in the genre. She explains step by step how to create a nutritious yet tasty green smoothie. The book also contains great information on how to prepare your produce and even freeze it if you wish. If you're interested in creating a truly healthy drink then it's hard to beat this book (especially at the kindle price).

Yes, I love my sweet stuff but I also try to stay healthy (at my age it's one of my few hobbies) so I was excited when I discovered this new green smoothie book. Okay, it's not really sweet stuff but I can live a better lifestyle while enjoying some delicious drinks.

In fact, I'm ready to try out the Green Goodness Smoothie right now!

One final thought, Jennifer even gives a warning about some smoothies so, if you are not educated in the pros and cons this book is a buy - not to mention all the cool recipes you'll get. 'Nuff said!

This is my first book one Green Smoothie and I found it to be really easy to understand and very informative. It outlines the basics, gives tips on techniques, provides formulas which allows you to experiment and produce a smoothies to your own tastes and likings. The Green Smoothie goes through what fruits and greens are best, how to buy, clean and store, and, I must say, has really delicious recipes. It is organized in a very helpful way and really has all of the information you need to get started and enjoy these healthy and delicious drinks. I would recommend this highly to any one who want to start, or learn more, about green smoothies.
